- Allison| 9 repliesSaid I'd won walmart Visa card but needed my credit or debit card for shipping costs I said oh no no no not doing that and they hung up on me. I called back asked the company name they said Iprox premium rewards I asked a few more questions saying I questioned their legitimacy they hung up on me again!

- Houston Resident replies to AllisonI received a similar call.
1) I do not think the Walmart leadership would approve of such a negative use of their company name, as this certainly tarnishes the "brand" which they've invested so much to cultivate.
Someone (probably a robo-dialer) repeatedly called my home phone and hung up quickly after just a couple of rings. A number was left on my caller I.D.
Then, I called the number back several times. It seemed as though they were calling on behalf of Walmart because they used Walmart's name, promising a Walmart Voucher as a free gift. I expressed extreme disinterest and disapproval.
They were very uncooperative, and they did not want to let me speak to supervisors. They also tended to ignore whatever I said as they kept returning to their sales script.
They claimed to have gotten my number from someone that I purchased something from, but I do not give my number out in any way or for any transactions.
They claimed to be a company called
"Iprox Premiums" out of "Tampa, Florida."
The number that was left on my caller ID (which I called back) was 281-860-2281. This was a Houston 281 exchange and when I asked them about it, they said they were using an "internet voice-over" to make the call.
Several of the people I spoke with had accents from the country of India.
The phone bank supervisor's name was supposedly Jasmine Davis, but another caller also used the name Jasmine Smith.
They refused to give me information about their company -no number that I could call, no person in charge.
Rude, offensive, non-responsive (except that they would put me down as a "do not call.")
Someone needs to get a handle on telephone number and other information abuses. Attorney Generals or somebody. - Lassie| 2 repliesIt is illegal for anyone, even Walmart, to charge you money for winning a prize (or "postage" or "taxes", etc.)
What happens is you send them the money and they never send you anything. The Caller ID is spoofed so you have no way to trace them. - Houston replies to Allison| 2 repliesReport any such scam, even if you did not become a victim by falling for it,
to the F.T.C. (Federal Trade Commission).
Your local phone company should be able to provide their number, or see: http://www.ftc.gov/
or see:
http://www.ftc.gov/faq/consumer-protection/submit-consumer-complaint-ftc
Informing them of such problems will give them an idea of how frequently and where the problems exists, so that they may be able to better track and maybe deal with the perpetrators. - SamanthaReceived a call from a 704-251-7637 only one ring and it hangs up. Me thinking maybe something happened to the connection on my phone plus I was waiting for a reply back from interviews...so I called back...ran me through an automated system told me I won blah blah blah...quickly someone who sounds like from India picked up and told me I have won $100 rebate card for Walmart/target/best buy, $2,000 savings coupon for local retailer/restaurants, and a $25 dining certificate. Me thinking wow too good to be true...what's the gimmick? So goes and tells me but their will be a small fee to ship it out of $2.95....she probably sense I was going to hang up. She tried to convince me to check out their website or company....I was not able to pull any thing up by the company name Iprox premium company- website discount rewards.com....she kepted on saying what ever you do don't hang up..she said that 3x....from there it was a wrap...hung her up....read all the reviews online and they went through what I went through. So be aware, you could be a possible victim and you might not even know it!

- joyfulpixiegirlI was called from 205-259- 2694 and offered a free $100 walmart gift card plus and American Express check to cover the cost of shipping of $4.95. They wanted a debit or credit card # from me. This happened right after i when to my Chase Rewards Account. I said I would look them up first while she was on the line and i saw this blog and hung up on her.

- Rose Mary WienerI called the number that was on my statement saying the company I wanted to speak to was out of order and they would give me $100.00 for Walmart, $40.00 for Gasoline and $25.00 American express. I question why they were doing this. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he cm on after I spoke to two women and told him what the ladies said and he hung up in my face. Certainly SCAM SCAM SCAM
- commgalA company Iprox from 458-201-2052 called cuz I was "eligible for" a $100 WalMart card because I had shopped there or bought something or answered a survey or responded to a warranty. The caller, whose accent made him almost unintelligible, said he couldn't nail down anything more definite than this. Then he told me I could get the $100 card and some other stuff if I paid $4.95 for the shipping! I told him it was not ethical to tell someone they had won something and ask them to pay to ship the gift card. I am positive that Wal Mart - their alleged "partner"- does not do business this way. I then asked which country he was calling from and he said "Southern California," and then he said "Sacramento, California" (hello, that's nothern CA) and then he wanted to get right back to his robotic script. I asked to speak to a supervisor and did get someone else on the line, but he only wanted to repeat the script again. He refused to answer my questions and asked if I wanted to be placed on the Do Not Call list. I said I wanted my questions answered about the legitimacy of the company and the offering, but he hung up. No one would say how they obtained my private cell phone number. Do not give these people one penny!

- Marc| 3 repliesAn Hispanic woman reportedly from Sacramento, California working for a company named IPROX PREMIUM REWARDS called me offering me $100.00 gift cards that could be used at Walmart or Target in exchange for my debit card number. They were of course using a spoofed phone number, as the number came up on my caller I.D. as (207) 406-5316.
This is truly NOTHING SHORT OF ATTEMPTED ROBBERY.
These people DESPERATELY need to be found, raided, shutdown, fined AND imprisoned!!!!!!!! If I was close enough, I'd raid them myself.- Caller: Iprox Premium Rewards

- DebbieI just got a call from this company calling from 707-737-5300, and I picked up. His name was John Rodriguez I'd #5992-6992, and he gave me the same story. That id won a $100 voucher for Target all i had to do was give him some info on where to send it. He asked for my full name, address, email address, at this point i had already told him several times that i questioned the legitimacy of his company and he kept giving me the run around about how they are backed by the FTCand that it would only damage their company by being a scam. So while on the phone i got online to check it out and came across this site. I told the rep that all the reviews were not good and he just said "well they must not have paid the shipping fee, that is why they are giving bad reviews. After asking for my cc number to pay for the secure handling shipping fee several times and him refusing to give me a contact number in case something went wrong, I finally hung up. It may sound like a great deal, but the sccams usually do! Beware!!

- CherylI have received several calls on my cell from, IPOX Premium Awards, at 703-542-3282. I called them back to ask to be removed from their call list and they insisted that I would receive a $100 Walmart credit if I would simply pay a $6.95 shipping fee. I promptly asked to be removed from the calling list and the representative hung up on me. Very annoying!

- DeeWell, it seems this Improx Co., or whatever they are are now sending notifications by mail. I got a claim notice via mail with the $100 gift rebate certificate offer to wal-mart, target. Once I called, they said I could also receive a $25 visa card. After I started questioning I was told to hold on, then disconnected. It's holiday time and ppl will fall for this nonsense. I'm going to report this, and wondering why nothing has been done thus far?

- Vic PaznickThanks to everyone on this site! You may have saved my credit. I got the Iprox call from 702-623-7091. I didn't get to the phone immediately, so called back from caller ID. They had no idea who I was when I called back, immediately congratulated me that I had "won" a "gift card". They gave me the company name and as they were reciting their script, I looked it up on my computer and was referred by Google to check this page for scam calls from them. From the comments, I believe that not only would I lose $4.95, but probably all the remaining credit on hat card. The adage is forever true: If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS too good to be true! My favorite comeback often stops them cold: "Hey, you sound hot, I don't want your money, just send me some nude pics of yourself."... Try it!
