It's a company called Career Network. If you've applied online through an outside source and requested to hear back about the job you applied for via text this is how they're getting your information

they just texted me right now! I applied for a position on A2Z placement for an hr position. Is this legit? It seems weird a company would text. Isn't it standard to send an email or actually call you for an interview? I've never been texted before. Has anyone called and if so what were they told?

they texted me telling me to call about a job.
my dad said if it was a really a job they'd be more professional and call or email. I'd just ignore it to be honest. To stop them from texting you write "stop".

They just texted me as well concerning a Job, I did not bother to call because it's very unprofessional to conduct any reply to job applications.

I got a text from them as well. When I looked up Career Network on the web, my Firefox said it was an untrustworthy site. When I looked at the comments, they all had some kind of phishing or scam note on them.

24 hours after applying for multiple marketing jobs, I got a text from 56030.  The callback number was 1-800-455-5537.  "Jewel" answere the phone, and it sounded like this may have been her first day on the job.  Jewel simply told me that they were just verifying my interest in the job, but could not tell me what company it was that I applied to.  Additionally, she stated it was within a 30mile radius of the company.  However, she never "verified" anything.  She never asked for any of my areas of interests, job positions, or anything of the sort.  She just kind of sat there reading a script.

I was waiting for a sales pitch, when the line went quiet.  I asked if there was anything they needed from me or anything else I was supposed to do, and she seemed totally clueless; she kept reading the same "good luck" speech over and over again.  Bordering on humorous, I am not sure what to think of this "verification service," but I don't think it has anything to do with getting me a job.

I received a text from this number and i called back and the lady asked for my cell number to look up my information, i was caught off guard and thats why i called back not thinking how unprofessional it was to text me about a job, i knw txting is the thing to do these days but not about a job..nonetheless just wanted me to verify my name address, phone number etc. and also asked if i wanted to further my education.....why???? what is the motive behind this...they already have your info from the application filled out why bother callin or texting to verify.....and then tell you someone from HR will contact you with more details....

I got a text from them, stating it was about an IT Computer Assistant job I replied for on Career Network.  When I called them, I spoke to a professional sounding woman who verified my name, address, contact information, education information and citizenship over the phone.  She had said it was a pre-screening interview and that any further information would come directly from the company who is doing the hiring.  She had also said that they pre-screening could take anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes.  Mine only took five... which I thought was odd.  So I really don't know what to think of it all.

I got a text back literally 1 day i applied that was the first thing I found weird it seems very unproffessional and the name on the text is careernetwork not a2z and it seemed more like spam.  When I did call a guy answered and knew my name automatically which I found very creepy most companies are to busy to know who applies and wait around for applicants to call.  He basically told me the hiring process will be done by HR and they would contact me, and if I understood which I said yes.  Then he told me he had to verify things and it could take up to 45 mins, That is were I told him I didnt have 45 mins and I would call back later which I didnt.  I dont know what this is but when I applied i only used my email, address, and cell number I dont think much can be done with it I just wish I would have never applied.  Wasted minutes of my time.

Its illegal to ask for verification of citizenship anyways. They should only ask for verification to work in the US, and only after they offer you the job.

People its not a big deal. Big Corps. are of tired of going through needless resumes that end up being thrown out. They need a middle man to make sure that at least you fullfill the min req.s. Career-Network just does that. But obviously always keep caution when approached by these companies. Keep track of what you are applying to and who posted the job offer
