This company called me called Continental Law? They said I had a payday loan, and called and said they were going to throw me in jail for bank fraud/hot check, because the loan I got from Rent-A-Center was bought by Midwest Recovery Fund, and then sold to someone else. The person called my friend and told her I was going to jail, and about my account. Does anyone else know about this?

1) debt is a civil matter not a criminal one and we no longer have debtor's prison.

2) request documentation that you owe the debt and that they have the right to collect it

3) once they prove that the debt is owed and they are rightfully collecting make arrangements and pay it.

So what happened with it because I just got a call from them today for my husbands account. The lady actually told me to quit having f-ing babies and hung up on me....

I got the same call but it was for a payday loan 200 dollars and the man I tslk to got snart and cut me off and I sm goin to jail if I dont call before the end of the day duh I am talki g to u now so I told him to get in line with the rest he got mad a hung up on me .so I called back and a lady answer and I told I cant pay this right I am off work for medi al reason. So I made payment arrangments to figure this out
