Mrs. Stevens called asking for someone and that there is a complaint and gave a file number

urgent message- michelle myers calling for a possible lawsuit with their "firm." file number 504274. states it is "urgent."

Older guy, rough tone, called starting he represented a "law firm seeking legal action in the form of a lawsuit or before the courts." If I didnt contact them they would proceed forward without my consent. Did not say who he worked with or who his client's "firm" is.

SAME AS ALL OF THE ABOVE. Looks like this scam is pretty new.  I got a call from a "Deana Lewis" - same SCRIPT as above.  Called 11/28 and 11/29 (as a "second attempt").

Same as above! William sims called my brother asking for me. Left a file number and all.

Same script as above.  They asked for someone with the same last name as mine, but different first name.

They say they are a law firm. Who are these people?

Same script; “Amanda Harvey” calling “representing a firm that will proceed with legal action” (heard of U.S.P.S. Registered Mail or are they afraid of Federal Mail Fraud Charges...) directed towards my Brother, who I have little contact with and has never used my mobile number. I have gotten several of these same calls... this last call came up as UNKNOWN which is illegal if they are a debt collection company.

Michael Simms called with same message as above. This is the second time and call comes in as unknown.

Received call from a "Mrs. Bryant" and said she was with R&R Litigation.  Gave a case number and said the original debt was with US Bank, which was $500.00, and I now owed $3,000.00.  Turned it over to my attorney.

They left me the same message. The lady's Indian accent slipped through just a bit tipping me off. No name was given to the law firm or name given for who "Mrs. Stevens" works for. Also, called me from a restricted number.

Scam , They are looking information up.. I paid 10 years ago.  Scam!!     Private Caller, They said they are from 1055 West 7th st LA Cali.

Anyone receiving these calls need to contact their state’s attorney general. I got the call too and called them back. Claim to be R and R Recovery out of Los Angeles but I’ve found zero info anywhere on them. Even the address they gave me is suspect. They do have some info on me from an account that I settled 10 years ago and have managed to obtain proof. US Bank confirmed they sold the account in question to United Credit Recovery. They were shut down by the federal government almost 5 years ago. You can find info about the case on the DOJ’s website or the link I’ve provided. Do not give them more info on yourself than they already have! Contact your Attorney General.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid. 

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I’m going through the process.

An Agent by the name of John Daley calledfrom a No Caller ID number and I picked up the phone and said nothing. In the background I heard someone say some about the Doctor. There was people there and talking It sounded like possibly a female and because I said nothing He said my name and the said Mr. and said my last name. I stood quiet and he hung up and called right back. I answered and said hello and he proceeded and gave me my family's name and gave me a reference number and a 1-888-585-6356 number to call. When I call it say's "The party you are trying to reach is mot accepting calls at this time". I believe this is a scam.

Got the same call I know it’s a scam they had my middle name incorrect and I have recently filed bankruptcy so I know that there are no outstanding debts that I have. Beware
