They state they are with the student advocacy group but the website I asked the "representative who can modify my loan" isn't registered and the domain name is for sale. Ask them for a website you can look at yourself. But don't give them any information!

Got a text message stating the same thing. I check here then I BLOCK.!!!! Because they are scammers scum of the earth, bottom feeders just trying any way possible to get personal information.

This was texted to me. It's a weird method for the Department of Ed to use for communication. I doubt it's legit.

Seems to be a scam.

I got the same text message.  I don't have any student loans, although my two kids that are currently in college do.  I think it's a scam because my kids are still taking out loans (and my wife and I are cosigning) to pay for their college tuition.  Both are pursuing bachelor degrees that aren't in the field of Education. The Department of Education only offers forgiveness loans to those who graduate with a degree in Education.

Text from 87794 saying "Your student loans may qualify for forgiveness through the Department of Education,  For more information call immediately 1-888-588-7534"   That loan has been paid off for well over a decade and I don't intend to respond because it's a SCAM.

I received a text as well. When dealing with the federal loans how unprofessional would it be for them to send you a text about loan forgiveness. I laughed and blocked it.
