they said they were from Amazon and some one was trying to charge a phone on the Amazon credit card

Scam! Amazon doesn't call to verify purchases.

Says Amazon has frozen my account due to high charge.  Call and verify account.  SCAM.

Said they put a hold on my account from Amazon due to suspected fraudulent purchase.

Told me my Amazon Prime account had been compromised because someone charged a $10,000 iphone to it. Problem is I don't have an Amazon PRIME account. If I did have an account, I would only have to log into it to see that this is a scam.

file a fraud incident with the FTC. Received the same call claiming to be from Amazon fraud. Called them back for giggles. They are wanting to gain access to your computer, iPad etc.. Asked them if they wanted me to give them the correct phone number for Amazon Fraud. The fake Indian accent suddenly disappeared and was told "no, shut up" and they hung up

'Just called me at my home twice.  Same supposed situation:  We need to be alerted to some kind of fraudulent activity in an Amazon account.  Neither of us have anAmazon acct. of any sort...nor ever have!

'Was about to check the Amazon website to check out phone numbers and to ask if perhaps someone was trying to open an account in my name... or whatever the scam du jour is now.  I instead came to 800notes.com first, and saved myself the trouble of going to Amazon.  I will go to call their authentic Security/Fraud/Loss Prevention Dept. a.s.a.p.

Recorded message both when answering or allowing to go to voice mail. States this is Ama,on fraud department and that my Amazon prime account has been compromised and that an iPhone worth $598 has been charged to the credit card attached to the account. To call 888-598-1510 to speak with a Amazon Fraud executive. Then there is 5 seconds of silence before disconnect.  This is a scam! I called back and a midle Easter man answered with a heavy accent asking for my name & credit card number. All while listening to a bunch of noise in the background.

Called said my Amazon account was compromised. For 598

I just got the same voicemail. I hate scammers.

Voicemail claiming to be from Amazon requesting I call this number as they froze account due to suspected fraudulent activity. Clearly scam.
