Claims to be from Norton Utilities concerning a renewed subscription ( that doesn't exist )!

email about Norton subscription and my acct renewal charge ...........total scam

Received email regarding renewal of Norton Security which I did not charge or contact.
Charge is $416.17.

Just got an email originally saying we have received a renewal requisition for your nortonfamilyplusdesk subscription.  It has been renewed from your end.  the debited amount will be reflected within 3-4 days on your account statement.  activation date 5/28/21 valid till 4 year from the date of activation. cost $396.92 payment method auto renewal. it says please do not reply to this mail address that will not help.   so i originally can tell this is a scam, i called the number they gave 1-888-598-4178  and he was trying his best to get me to open my laptop which i told him if i want to cancel a subscription they can do it over the phone without doing anything else.  I asked him what's the debit card number that will be billed, he just said the visa card, i asked ending in what and he said he can't give that private information out which then i told him it's my personal information.  He would'nt give any other info out BECAUSE IT'S A SCAM, AND HE HAD NO PERSONAL INFORMATION OF MINE!  He thought i would be a dumb person falling for his tricks and i said i'm reporting this number to the police because they are a scam he didn't say anything and i hung up haha.  and also when you call the number back he just answers as "hello" not the company name doesn't say his name until you get into the conversation.  Don't believe these people.

   BE AWARE OF EMAIL LIKE I RECEIVED!!!!! SCAM!!!!!    CLAIMING TO BEST BUY TECH SUPPORT!

I got this exact same e-mail...I have was so concerned while reading this and I have a call into Best Buy to report it. I don't know if they'll do anything bu I want them to know.

Received email saying $599 was debited from my account for automatic subscription for tech support and to call within 24 hours to cancel.
