Scam saying part of a lawsuit

Not sure if a scam, they had my name and address listed for a relative of mine. Needing to send legal documents to appear in court out  of state.

Received message threatening a possible lawsuit around a complaint, but only information given was woman's name and that I needed to get a hold of "the firm" and gave document number with a "good luck". Sounds like a possible scam to me as I have never heard of a lawsuit being brought against some one with the notification being done by a 3rd.

Contacted by "Elizabeth" stating a complaint had been made and threatening a lawsuit, but it was my responsibility to contact "the firm"-but didn't give a specific firm name. Gave document number and a "good luck" . Contacted them back and it was a voicemail for an "AFF". Again, sounds like a scam to me, not sure what firm would use a 3rd party to contact an individual about a possible lawsuit.

This number called 2x within 2  minutes .  Said that I needed to contact "the firm "and it was an urgent matter .  The first call the guy sounded legit .  The second guy sounded like he was trying to have a deeper voice .  The two times they called me they gave me two different case numbers .  They also contacted my dad . This  happened to me a few years ago  and I almost got  scammed .  Fortunately  I had people to stop me before I gave them money .

I received a call in reference to a person by the name of Tony Latimer who had a law suit against him and I was listed as a point of contact for this person.  The caller's name is Melvin Davis.  Melvin called me to give a message to Tony about contacting him about this legal issue.  I called the phone number left in the message.  There was a person who answers that phone to forward to specific offices based on the case number.  I tried to ask them questions regarding this.  The receptionist just forwarded me to the man who sounded like the Melvin Davis message.  I was only able to obtain he was will AFF Law Group and he was located in CA, but he said they had offices all across the country.   As I pressed for more information he hung up on me since my name did not exactly match the name of the point of contact.  I had advised I do not know a person by the name of Tony Latimer; which I don't.  He said he would remove my name from the file.

We will see if I receive any more calls.  Sounds fishy to me.  If they were legit, they would be forthcoming with the company name and exactly what it is in reference to.  Also cannot find information on Melvin Davis or AFF Law Group.

i keep receiving calls from this number, coming up as a private number. the call isn't even for me, it's for my fiance, telling him this is a urgent matter and that court procedures will be taking place if he doesn't resolve this matter by 5 pm today. funny how they arent even calling him or have never received any kind of paperwork or anything as to what they are talking about.

They called my husband stating he had a US Bank account that he closed in 2010 and he owed $4000. They wouldn't give us any info regarding the case. Told us that the police would just come and arrest him. SCAM!!!

I got a call today as well came through as private.  I called back the # in the voice mail and I told them to remove my # and to "Cease and Desist" any further connect. The man named George Warren became upset and said they'd come 2 my address he then hung up on me.

Said there was a legal lawsuit being held against me and I have 72 hours to call them or the courts will take legal action without me. Keep calling my parents home phone also I haven't lived there or used that number in 9 years told my Mom they are trying to sever me papers today from 9-4. Pretty sure this is a major scam they don't say who they are with and what legal firm it is or what you are being sued for or who is suing you. I have gotten the same message 3 now. If they are trying to serve papers they will find you they make phone calls for things like that. All mail or certified mail notifications

A voicemail message on my cell left by a woman. The call was for a person I don't know although we have the same last name. She said this person was in some kind of legal trouble and they needed to call back immediately. She didn't say the name of the company calling. Phone number to call back was 888-601-9389 and the file reference # was 464888.

This is not true !! They harrassed me so 8 uarrassed them back all day a staff of 10 people

Same 888-601-9389 number called my moms and stated I was in legal trouble and that a warrant had been issued. That they had tried  to serve papers on me once before and would be serving them today. They said to have me call this number and a reference number. I have had the same type of calls a few times over the years. I chose to ignore this one. Since I know I have no legal issues pending, no debt collections etc. This is a scam they will ask you to western union them a certain amount of money usually 4 to 5 thousand dollars to resolve the issue. Do not send them any money.

I received a phone call from a restricted number that told me to call this number with a case# that I was to appear in court.  Problem is they had the wrong name.  I called this number that they gave me 888-601-9389 and said they were a corporate law office.  I told them they had the wrong person and they said Okay.  I think it is a scam but not sure. He kept claiming that I was Patricia Nicole Ramsey who I am not and I  was being served a summons to appear in court.

Got same call this one from a Kevin went straight to telemarketer box in my phone system. AFF is the number their using!

Law suit

After I left an after hrs voicemail telling them I sent all of the info they tried scaring me into paying up to $5000 dollars an needed to go to Western Union an send the money immediately to avoid any legal action. I have software on my OOMA phone system that has a way of detecting telemarketing an the message goes to a voicemail that I've turned over to the authrities for legal action against them the guy who called me was David an never heard from them again. They definitely do not want the police involved. The company was AFF there is no collection agency using that or law firm spent 2 hrs on web can't get them pin downed plus there was never a registered letter sent to me of any legal action just a call out of the blue.

I have received many calls to my cell with a restricted ID and when I did pick up it was a man telling me that he was serving me with court papers. He would not answer for WHAT. I hung up and he called back 4 times in 2 minutes. I did not pick up those times, sent it to VM and they didn't leave a message. Now 6 days later they call my daughter and scare the crap out of her because she thinks I am in trouble with the law. They called her 4 times in 2 minutes. Please help make this STOP. I pay my bills
