I received a call from 888-602-5209 claiming to be a law firm and telling me that I was being sued for a past bill that has been charged off. They said I was sent a settlement notice in January, which I never received. The caller, Keith Reed, then wanted my email address to send me information. I told him that  I thought this was a scam. He asked if I had been drinking tonight, because I was irate. I told him that my attorney would fight this for me and he proceeded to tell me that I could not afford an attorney, because " I don't pay my bills". The caller was very arrogant.

    1. If  we're getting SUED, you would not be warned.
    2. It is illegal to claim to be an attorney  if not licensed.
    3. Emails are NOT  official notification of debt.

Received a call telling me I'd be receiving a summons to appear in court. Jason was very rude and I felt bullied. This is in reference to an ambulance bill 4 years ago which was paid.

If you were being served, you wouldn't be called in advance because then you could just avoid the process server. Nor would you be given the chance to pay to not be served. It's a scam. Block and ignore their calls if you can. However, if you do end up speaking to them again, demand they mail you proof of the debt as required by law. Phone calls, emails, faxes, and texts are not legitimate methods of debt notification.

same call. Asked to confirm an address to serve me. I do not even live in the state the address is in. I used to serve process. I did due diligence and researched the address. This an attempt to collect something old.

I've been getting calls for months from people looking for a person that I do not know and does not live at the number being called. I've told them this before when they would call. They claimed they would be removing the number. I got more calls, called back and told them again that they have the wrong number. I got hung up on. Pretty sure this is a scam and I'm really getting annoyed with the endless calls and rude messages on my machine.

Caller "Diana" claimed to be a process server legally serving me process. Serving someone I don't know of a different gender. Said they should call (888) 602-5290 for more information. Glad I checked this website before calling (though if it sounds important, I'm normally inclined to let them know they have a wrong number). No way am I calling them back. You can't serve papers on someone by phone. Such a stern voice. Was she trying to shame her scam victims? She spoke too quickly for me to understand the name of her company when she (maybe) named it. Your drop down box doesn't have a scam choice, so I will enter debt collector, though they claimed to be a process server. Thanks for this website!

Got a text from DAdvisor telling me to call this number.  My policy is to not call unsolicited phone numbers nor take phone calls from numbers not in my address book ... if the call is legit, they will leave a message.
