“This is not a solicitation please listen to this message in its entirety the following message is to notify you that we are making a second attempt to deliver certified documents to you these documents require your signature should you not be present to sign for them we will be forced to record the attempt to deliver and return all documents back to the issuing party if there is no response from you by the end of the business day they will continue without your participation to schedule a better time for delivery of service you will need to contact 1-888-618-0707 or press one to speak to your case manager now this call has been recorded as the second attempt to deliver the documents you have been notified…”

It's just the old "we have a summons for you" SCAM.  You have been notified of nothing but the scam.

The fake process server/location finder extortion SCAM usually consists of the following:

They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency.  They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  They threaten to serve you at home or at work.  They tell you that if they serve you at work then they will need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work.  They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID.  None of which is true.  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.  They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”.  Court documents are time sensitive and must be served within a certain amount of time.  Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there really is a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

I just got the same exact message as you did word for word. This is a definite scam.

Got the same message and talked the so called lawyer he even called me back from a private number on my caller ID, saying ill be served papers they also had alot of my info which made it sound legit but now I see its most likely a scam and now I'll have to report it because of my info being out there

EXACT SAME message. Said second attempt but never called previously. I tried to google the number with no spaces and not much of a match wxcept foreign language. I called back was NOT goin to give any personal info. Got a smarta** I didnt hear the first thing said. I asked him to repeat and He told me it was a litigation against (my husbands name). I said "what do u mean by litigation?" He said "GOOGLE IT, for the 3rd time its a litigation for ....." I hung up googled the number again (888 618 0707) found this sight. Im done!

Yeah I read it, this is a new scam to me but I never give info out over phone or sus links and I also checked my local courts documents for info and found nothing its just scary they have my home address

Your home address is extremely easy to find on the internet for free.  Heck, they can even get a picture of it on the internet for free courtesy of Google.  Have you ever done a search of your name?  If not you should sometime.

SCAM SCAM SCAM called me 2 times. first time was at 7:30pm

Phone picked up as "scam likely".  Did not answer.  Didn't recognize the number on voice mail, so did not call back.

Received a number of calls from this number with all citing what is stated above. A scam by any standard of it. Do not call back, never answer the phone when called.
