My mom just got one of those postcards from Norwegian Cruise Line where it says

NAME
You were verified and as a result of this offer your name and ticketing number have been issued!  You will receive an 8 Day/7-Night cruise for 2 with an outside cabin, leaving from many major ports in the U.S.

Call within 48 hours.  You will also receive as a bonus 2 round trip airfares leaving from or going to any major airport in the Continental U.S.!!

And then inside is a generic boarding pass with my mom's name and cruise number, etc.  

This is one of many scams my mother has received since my father passed away in May 2011, either by phone or by mail.  I've talked a lot about what to look for in scams and how to tell.  It's ridiculous!!!!  I can't stand the fact that people are scamming other people...why?   They must have no conscience.

I received exactly the same mailer.  That's gonna be one crowded cruise ship!

I looked at the Norwegian Cruise Line web page and, while they are located near the address the mailer came from, this appears not to be one of their phone numbers.

I think I will take a pass.

We received the same message coming from "Norwegian Cruise Line" when in fact, the fine print states that the company is not affiliated with the mailer, but is instead a major supplier. To further investigate, I contacted the toll free number and was asked a bunch of questions by a person on the line. When she asked me what our phone number was, I blatantly said, "I think I'll just research this whole thing online" which I guess took her aback because she was quiet for a few seconds.

Total scam. People are going to get hurt with dishonesty everywhere.

I got the exact same postcard thing, even the RSVP 5484 is the same!  I feel so not special now lol.  And on the back of the fake boarding pass there's:
"Certain restrictions apply.  Call
for details of participation.  This
promotion is not sponsored by or
affiliated with Norwegian Cruise
Lines, but they are a major supplier.  
Recipient is responsible for any
applicable deposits port charges,
taxes and/or fees."

Thank you for someone else who really called the number because I want to find out but don't want them to have my phone number.
