When I called back the 888-627-5178 the women that answered was a complete [***]. She did state it was about my mother. I told her I handled all my mothers accounts. She just kept up her [***]. I asked for her name, company name, address—-and she refused to give any information. TOTAL SCAM—and this idiot [***] should know that my mother passed away 7+ years ago.
I told the [***] give me your information or I will forward this to the FBI—so she hung up.
I just sent it to the FBI and posting here.
Don’t get sucked into this [***] from these callers.- Caller: 888-627-5178

- JasonAnswered a call from my area code. Caller with foreign accent informed me of a "complaint" against me, suspecting scam I hung up. Same person immediately called me with a different number. I hung up again. Then they called my wife and teenage daughter. I called the 888-627-5178 number they told my wife and daughter to call. I stated if there was "a complaint" against me they had no business contacting my minor daughter. The lady literally told me to "shut the hell up" at which point I ended the call.
- PJKelly from U.S. Document Services Complaint Department calling about a complaint registered against me. File number 235298. She said I needed to confirm my address and be ready to accept delivery of legal papers. Hung up and was immediately called back and threatened that legal proceeding were about to begin against my mother who she called by name. Told her to **** and hung up again. Complete scam! Don't listen to these lowlifes!!!

- Em| 1 replyCalled the number and they couldn't give me any info on what or who was trying to settle a financial matter with my dead husband. He died years ago. After I told her this info she said thank you for calling and that she would note this in the file. She would not share any information with me. She was polite. She would not identify her company or the complaining company. I stated that there are no reports on he credit report.
- Max replies to EmSounds really dodgy. I have a hard time believing this is in any way legitimate. Like others, I was called and told that legal action was being taken against my mother for some financial issue that was never made clear to me. Also, my mother has been dead for years. I'm not sure how they're getting the names of close relations, but it's offensive.
- DianeI received a very similar call regarding serving papers. I told the gentleman that I believed this to be a scam. He told me he wasn't here to convince me it wasn't - just that he needed to talk to my son about getting served papers. I don't believe them and will not be following up. The original number that called me was 817-203-7963. They then instructed me to call 888-627-5178 and give them the case number. THIS IS A SCAM

Unusual, thick accent.- Call type: Scam suspicion
- KristySame as posters above mention. They called me twice right in a row from a local area code. I didn’t answer the first call and they left a message that I need to sign some documents and I need to verify home address or else they will serve my employer. And they left the 888-627-5178 number to return call. The second time they called I answered and a man with a thick accent asked if he was speaking with Kristy and I simply said “you have called twice within 2 minutes! Take me off your call list.” He simply said “ok” and I hung up

- Alex"Charles" with a very heavy Indian accent called asking to verify my home address so he could serve papers to my daughter. When I said I think this is a scam he said he didn't care what I thought and was I was legally liable for my daughter's actions (my daughter is in her mid-twenties, so that's not true) and said he was going to send someone to my workplace and the homes of other family members if I didn't cooperate. I hung up and blocked the number.

- PaulaSame experience here. A woman who barely spoke English called and said she was from US documents and they were going to serve me and needed my address, bla bla. I immediately knew it was a scam and called the number they provided (888)627-5178 just to see if I could tell them to go screw themselves. The woman answered the phone "hello" wouldn't tell me who she was or what she does and was extremely rude. She said she doesn't know why they gave me her number, but she is a lawyer. I then called her back after getting online and realizing that my initial thought was true, this is a scam. I have perfect credit, no criminal record, pay my taxes and don't owe anyone money. When I called her back and gave her the reference # she had my name but still wouldn't give me any information. When I told her I was reporting her #, and the scam, she went off the rails on me and was yelling all kinds of obscenities towards me. I would love to know who this woman is and how she sleeps at night.

- JSame as everyone above though I didn't call back the number. Someone spoofing a local number called and left a message telling me there was a pending action against me abs to call back the number in question. Clearly she was attempting to hide her accent. I highly suspect this is a scam call.

- AntSame as the other writer. Recording to me was almost verbatim. Called the number spoke to normal sounding guy stating I had an old account that was closed out 13 years ago. He told me I had a 5000k balance . I asked him why it took multiple years to contact me and he stated they’ve been trying for years . I said to him Ok I owe some bank 5000k and it’s only now I’m getting a phone call telling me this . Why haven’t they issued me any court paperwork via a sheriff.. I told him to send me the paperwork to verify the amount because I am not about to pay anything over the phone from some random number .. he said he’d send it out immediately.. I have to admit I was a little shaken until I googled the 888.627.5178 number and read the posts ..

Your reference case number is 280941. Documents regarding your file are being prepared to be sent out
