I received a call for my father, who lives in another state and has never lived with me.  The caller was "fuzzy" when asked who he was calling for, stated it was a "business matter", noted my first name and asked if I was a "relative".    All I could make out was he was from #%&*# & Associates.  He called me at 6:30 am and claimed he didn't know what state he was calling, implying he was on the east coast calling my west coast number.

I also just received a call from someone, asking for someone in my father's name. His voice was definitely very weird and I had to replay his voice message several times just to get exactly what he was saying. He said he was calling for (my father's name) and gave some type of reference/case number. He then said his name was Brian something from something Associates and left this number on the message 888-640-9725. Of course I came to google it just incase and it seems like this is the only result that is coming up. Either way seems like a scam to me since I cant find a real business number. And the other reply for this number definitely points to NEW type of scam since the date for his call is just one or two days before mine.

We received the very same message from (something, something) Associates. Her name was Tiffany Cash. She said the number to call back was 1-888-640-9725 and left a case number in which I couldn't get all the numbers. She said my husbands first name and said she was trying to reach my brother in law. First off he lives in another state. I'm sure the same way they got my phone number they could get his. I'm ignoring their calls and if I do happen to answer and it's them, I'm telling them to stop harassing or I'm calling consumer affairs me that I have no idea who they are looking for. I found this site it might help others having issues.

(The only legal reason for calling neighbors (or any third party) is to locate you. If collectors already have your location information (home phone, home address or work phone and address) then, calling third parties is prohibited. The only possible reason for calling third parties, after they already have your location information, is to embarrass you; a clear violation of the FDCPA.)

I recieved a call from a man named sam Walls (or something) from Brian something and Associates this morning right before 8am, and he woke up the baby (ughh!!)  He sounded Very intimidating, like a cop or something!    He left a message and asked for me but just by my firdt name and gave me a referece number. I have not called back, I hope he doesnt keep calling early in the morning waking up my disabled baby!!

I got a call saying it was someone from some associates office(listened to it many times and still could not make out what the guy was saying). He said it was important for me OR my attorney to return his call. I have gotten calls like this before when they are saying my attorney needs to contact them about a pending case in court against me. Well I go on to tell them that I was never served nor signed certified mail as to any court date. I asked then for proof or for them to send me paperwork and I would review it. They just get nasty and hang up, but they keep calling so I don't answer. I have caller ID so if I don't know the number I don't answer.

Also, I have had a guy call me and say that if I didn't call him back in one hour that it was "good luck to you, you will need it" He was an Indian sounding man who was really  really nasty. First time I was threatened on a voice message.

I just received a call from my elderly grandmother who was very concerned because she received a call asking for me by my maiden name. She said that the man told her she needed to contact me immediately. They gave her a case number and told her that I had a case pending against me. I never have had any cases pending against me let alone in my maiden name that I have not used in over 10 years. I don't know why they would call my 87 year old grandma trying to locate me. If it were really that important why wouldn't they contact me directly?

This guy Mark Smith called from that number and said the same thing about a court case pending against me. They are called Bryant and Hodge associates and they are people who buy charged off accounts from  creditors and then try to get money from you. This guy knew the last four of my social and now I'm just going to give him a hard time. Screw these greedy [***]! These guys want me to pay 983.65 for a 90.00 debt! Can you believe that?!

yeah  i got the same damn message right now but he was calling for my husband and he said his name was brad/ brian fuller from hodge? and associates...sounded weird and since this was my husbands old number i was asking what this wa in regards to and he said he couldn't give me that kind of information and then told me to repeat my number to him and then told me to hold like 3 times so i hung up because I didn't know what the hell this was all about and got no answers.  Can anybody tell me who this is???

I got two calls from the same guy for my Brother in law and so IU called back the number to find out what company it is. the company name is Brian hodge and associates. I hope this helps.

I just received a call from this number.  Guy said his name was Brad, asked for three different people, asked how long I have had the phone number he called and then hung up

it appears that their registration in Maine is not in good standing and they are not registered with Main as a debt collector as would be required by Maine law.  Further, their registration in florida is inactive also.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
