Called back and found out it's a tax company that helps reduce and resolves back taxes with the state.

I had an issue with my tax return. It appears the IRS did file a lien, but it was their mistake. Told this company to remove my number because I wouldn't need their services on this IRS mistake.

Or so they say.  Be careful, you don't want to be Shill do you?

"Tax Resolution Company" - mmmmmm sounds as wholesome and safe as a trip to a petting zoo.  I think the phrase you are looking for is "Criminal Enterprise" or debt scammer.

It's unlikely they can make the payments more affordable.  But they will tell you they can.  Ignore them.  Do NOT sign up for their services.  I f you are on a payment plan, deal with the agent yourself.  Either than, or contact an Enrolled Agent or a CPA.

If you believe that is the case, you ought to contact an Enrolled Agent or a CPA.  If  a lien has been filed, then you should have a lot of documentation from the taxing authorities.  You should only deal with the agent handling your tax liability.

Not a good idea to sign up with a "Tax Resolution Company".  You don't know anything about this company and you do not know what kind of people are going to be looking at your personal financial information. You do not know if they are qualified to deal with the IRS.  Contact an Enrolled Agent or CPA.

Spoke to a guy at this company named bbc inc and he actually had some really good advice and advised to not hire an outside firm. I did file bankruptcy.
