Was charged to my bank account a total of $240.00. When I called the company Linda Green answered and she was very rude. She said someone had used my account information to pay a debt. She said I would receive a total refund. I haven't yet. Call sounded like she worked from home. I believe this a person committing fraud.

Same thing happened to me.  $221.40 charged to my checking account.  When I called to ask about it the woman on the phone never gave me her name and she was yelling at someone to turn the tv off.  Never asked me my name and just said she would issue me a credit and gave me a bogus reference number.  I asked who this debt was going to and she said she couldn't tell me, they just collect the money.  Funny thing is I have $0 debt so I knew this was a scam.  Called back the next day and the woman pulled the creditor out of the air saying it was verizon.  Never had a verizon account I have always been with AT&T.  Went to my bank they said this was a check authoriztion over the phone.  Printed out the check, it is not even my check, bogus check number and all they had on it was an old street address, not lot number and no city, state or zip code on it.  Now I have to go file a police report before the bank will try and get my money back.  I never received a call trying to collect a debt, they just pulled my information and charged it to my account!

$98.01 was taken out of my account discovered this immediately called bank  right away money is being returned to my account account had to be closed. have to get new checks etc... never received any phone call saying i had a debt. this is a scam. check was a phony check with this phone # on it called # no response they will not get any money out of me.

I recieved a statement from by bank of $239.89 on 2/24/2012  that a check was returned for insufficient funds. Because of this I had alot of overdraffed. I dont know this company nor have I ever heard of them. I am so very angry.I have been trying to contact them but they only put through to voice mail.

you need to close your account right away talk to the bank and hopefully they will refund your overdrafts.

I received a $94.88 charge to my bank checking account on February 24, 2012 that I did not authorize using a check number that I do not have in my listed check numbers. I called the bank and was told the check was authorized by me for a debt to the Republic National Collection or RNC with the phone number listed as 888-679-8884. I immediately called and an automated voice asked my name then call transferred to a voice mail to leave a message.  I retried several times. I tried the alternate Human Services option same problem with no response to my call.  I recalled the bank and they are  investigating at this point.  This is evidently a scam.

They sent a check for 109.38 my bank charge me for that to I call the number and just get voice mail.

I was also a victim of RNC on 2/21/12 in the amount of 149.95.  The number appears to be monitored by an answering machine that takes you to a voice mail.  I left a message including a threat to report the abuse to my local police, which I have since done, along with trying to stop payment on the check.  The check was in my wife's name with an old street address, but it had the correct bank routing number and our account number.

$189.95 was deducted from my account without my knowledge or permission. Contacted my bank who said the only thing I could do was file fraud charges in order to get my money back. The bank said the check looked as if I had authorized a "check by phone" payment. I do not know RNC or Reoublic National Collections. I called continuously until I FINALLY got a live person who said my info was given to pay an old cell phone bill. We have only had one cell phone carrier and I am current on my bill. She basically said she would give me a refund. This was 2/20...you guessed it, as of today still no refund. I called all day yesterday and only got the voice mail prompt. Today I call and surprise...the # has been temporarily disconnected. I left a message yesterday telling them I was filing charges with my local police department (which I am) and also with my bank. Hopefully between the two I will get my money back AND get somebody in a whole heap of trouble! If anyone has had any success in getting anywhere with these thiefs, i would be curious to know.

2/22/2012 - -Noticed a debit of $249.00, called my bank and explained situation, and I had not authorized any withdraw from my account. My bank representative was able to pull up the image of the check and got the following telephone number 888-679-8884 –  and some order number RNC #####.  Again said I did not know what this was, bank rep said that I would need to call the number and try to find out what the information was.  

5:30 p.m. Attempted to contact RNC at the above number.  Customer Service not available.

8:50  a.m. Called RNC again, got through a Linda Green answered and I told her who I was and that I wanted to know who they were and that a debit had been made from my checking account.  She asked what the amount was for and I told her.  She said that she would send a refund immediately and that my refund number was XXXXXX.  As she was giving me the number I was repeating it back and the phone clicked and I thought she hung up, but the phone was ringing.  She came back on the line, and she began to speak very fast like she did not want me to ask any questions.  I was able to ask what was the refund number.  She repeated it and I asked what is this company.  She said that she would have to investigate to find out who etc.  I asked how long it would take and she said that she would call me back and proceeded to hang up, and I said don’t you need my number?  She said no she has it on file.  I asked her what company she was with and she kept saying we are a collection company.  I asked was it RNC and what did that stand for?  She said Republic Collection we are a collection company.  I asked again what this was for and she said she would have to investigate and get back to me.

2/28 Tried telphone number again, no answer.

3/5 Tried telphone number, got a recording "this number has been temporarily disconnected", and no refund....Go Figure!

I will also be reporting this to local law enforcement, and the Attorney General's Office.

well they it me up to for $193.94 and I was given the same information, guess I will also ahve to file fraud charges.  I also have tried to call back and the number has been temporarily disconnected, Id like to know how they get our information.  I live on ss and this has really hurt me bad.
