- BethCalled me saying I owed over $400 for magazines I did not order and do not want and have been trying to get stopped.
Said I needed to pay $199 termination fee or they would charge me $400 and ruin my credit rating. I did NOT agree.
I called my credit card company to explain and they will protect me from charges from these people.- Caller: Reader's Choice
- sean| 1 replyCalled claiming I owe $400 for ordering magazines, that I did not request, & all of which I sent back. Said if I wanted to cancel I needed to pay $199, which they are trying to extract from an unemployed man.

- BigA replies to seanIt doesn't matter if you are employed or not employed. What matters is that they sent something through the mail that you did not order. That, as per the law, is considered a gift and you did not legally have to return them. There is no "fee" for cancellation. All the are doing is trying to extort money from you.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
List of State AG’s offices: https://800notes.com/faq/attorney-general
I would also file a complaint with the FTC over their sales practices.
By the way, if you have any information about them such as a real company name and address, please post it here so that we can research them. - Samantha| 1 replyI received a phone call today (July 16, 2018) from Readers Services stating I owe $400 for magazines I've never ordered. Or I could pay a $199 termination fee, splitting the payment in half if needed over two months, $100 today and the remaining $99 next month. The man, he gave his name as Bill Curtin, said if I didn't pay the termination fee today, my "account" would automatically be renewed for the next 24 months. I told him I didn't order any magazines AND I didn't feel comfortable giving him my credit card info over the phone, and even if I did, I didn't have the $199. He then proceeded to tell me that if I wasn't comfortable giving out my card number, I could go to the nearest Walmart and wire him the payment or get one of those reloadable cards and send him the payment that way. I ended the phone call telling him to send me a bill in the mail or send me to collections. So we'll see what happens..

- Emily MillicanThe people who are associated with this company have taken payments without authorization. When you call the number you don’t get a human being you get a answering machine. I’m pretty certain this company is angels llc and they answer as readers services.

- Elizabeth S KittleThis number is connected to Readers Services which is a company that sells magazines and threatens you if you do not pay what they say you owe. They are a scam company and use false info to get you to buy from them. I think the government should get involved in this shyster company.
