Didn't answer. I just got this phone# this week so there is no way they are looking for me. I think they are looking for the person who had this phone# before.

How do we get this caller to stop calling?

they called my work,I work at a school and do don't need them calling there!!!!

They sounded like they were calling from space or something, then they said their number and I heard a typewriter.

Shows up on Caller ID as Maria Barrios. They want to talk to an employee of our company that works in another department. I suspect a debt collector.

Called my google voice number looking for someone that isn't me.

This number is Advance America, the payday loan people.  If they're calling you, it's because you owe them money from a payday loan.  They are a legit business with a legit reason for calling.

Yes, apply advanced america is legit but I also got ripped off by someone claiming they were these same people so be careful!

Does not know my name, uses a distand spelling of my previous married name.  Says i is Mr Gower of Cash USA.

Never got a call from this company but got a call from another company in regards to this debt so thinking that the people I am paying might be a scam so gonna call advace america debt collector this morning when they open.

Said it was Ms. Miller from CNU.  Asked what CNU stands for and she replied that it was a personal business matter.

Has called numerous times and told wrong number.

Calls once a day at all times of the day. When answered no one is there.

They called my parents house in a different state saying they were the Mass Dept of Civil Proceedures.  My dad didn't give them my info but wow.

They are a fraudulent debt collector trying to collect debts that have been paid, written off, are aged, and/or are otherwise ineligible to be collected by law.  They threaten legal action, which is illegal in itself, and often call people who in fact have no debt at all, nor any connection whatsoever with Advance America.  
For the record, they're calling me (by name) to issue legal papers and I have never, ever had a payday loan from anyone, including Advance America.  In fact, I have no debt from anyone for anything.
This is not a legitimate debt collection agency.  Their illegal and deceptive practices are proof enough of that.

I have received a call from these people disguised as 757-453-2117. Ive never had a payday loan. Am up to date on ALL credit cards, car note, mortgage etc. Called a family number who has an unlisted number. He is furious and filing a complaint with BBB and our local AG's office. Whereas I practice law I see this type of practice all of the time but never had this personally been done to me. They picked the wrong one this time! File your complaints and keep your information in a file. This could lead to a class action lawsuit!  Be smart not intimidated!
