This is a Law Firm...I just went to court friday for a captiol one debt...so i would be careful for thinking this a scam...There located in lawrence ma, but they forward the matter to a attorney in my county, this is a collection law firm

Got a couple of calls from this Thomson and Associates. They asked for what phone number I was calling from and I reluctantly gave it. Then they asked if I were so and so, last 4 social way off from mine. I said I could not confirm if I were so and so, but that was not the last 4 of my social. They said, thank you and then hung up. Funny how the background sounded like a call center.

This law firm or whatever they are has been calling my house for months looking for a Myra Ruiz, well they have the last name right, they are so rude and I have told them and told them to take my number, which they obviously got from the phone book, off their call list. I have never been treated so rudely by someone on the phone. I would call a supervisor but I'm sure they are just as bad. Leadership comes from above...

Spoke to a manager named "Chris" very rude, cursed at me, hung up in my face. They were very persistent in attempting to get my checking account information. Those [***] are lucky that I don't know where their office is because I would go up there and kick him straight in the nuts. Claims that if I don't give them my checking account information they are going to give me a fee of $370-$700. SO BE IT

Depending on what state you are from statute of limitations is 4-6 yrs on old credit cards from the date of your last delinquant notice. As long as you do not admit to owing that money, the statute will not begin again. Go online under statute of limitations for debts. Fair Debt Act or something like that.

Someone from Thompson & Associates called and asked for Danielle something.  I said they had the wrong number.  Then they asked for my name and I said this was me.  They said Danielle was related to me and listed in the directory as living at this address.  I again said there was no Danielle here and I have no relative named Danielle.  I had a hard time convincing him I didn't know Danielle and she was not here.  I don't know what they wanted but it was strange and I didn't trust it.

I get an automated message from this phone number several times a week (during PEAK HOURS for my cell provider) that says there is an important message for BERT such-and-such.  They don't identify the company calling.  I'm mad as all !@## that I'm paying for these wrong number calls and there's no way to stop them.

I recieved a call from a Adam Walker from 888-688-2977 stating that I had a bounced check from 2005, to Advance America and that he was giving me a chance to "Take care" of this matter before they send out a sumons.  At the time I was busy at work and told them I would call them later.  So I did some digging and I dont recall ever doing business with a advance america, let alone bouncing a check.  After finding this web site, I am glad I didnt call them back, but I know they will be calling soon.  What should I tell them?

I received a called this afternoon, and I'm not sure who they are I do not return calls I don't know and I've had fruad on my credit and I'm sure you all know how hard it is to prove fraud and get things off your reciords that not yours

I have a brand-new cell phone number--not even a 3 days old. I haven't had a chance to change my information with any of the credit card companies or banks I do business with, so I was very surprised to receive this call. When I answered, a man asked for someone named "May" and I told him he must have the wrong number. He said "I don't think I do" and then just hung up. I haven't received another call, but if I do, I won't be answering. Either the number my new cell phone company gave me used to belong to someone else, or these people are scammers...

Saying in the message that there is a situation that needs to be resolved.  "Evan" from the law firm of Thomson and Associates called and was very nasty with an overbearing attitude.  Many messages and we have not responded.

I got a call from a evan roderick, very nasty and smart mouthed, I told him (and I am going to do it) That I am going after them for harrassment and also the fact that they mis-represent themselves. I would not give him any information about someone who does not live here and he said "you will or... So I cut him off and said i was contacting the authorities which I will do right now, I suggest you all handle this the same way :0)

Yes he is. He is guarding his financial identity from a group of scammers. If the debt is valid then validate it as per the FDCPA.

No one said they were not a law firm.  They are misrepresenting themselves just to scare you because they have probably bought that debt from an actual company and can try to recoup as much and some.  Thats what they are in business for.

My grandparents keep getting a call from this 888-688-2977 number asking for me i dont live in the same state nor do i have any idea how their number was gained by these people, my grand father told him they dont have contact with me and the calls presist.  these calls are conserning money i dont even owe!!!

got several messages from this evan rodrick, threatening me with some kind of legal mumbo jumbo, he even tried to imply it was a matter concerning my county office somehow. did alot of research, and law offices with the same name, have been getting alot of angry calls because of these liars. dont let yourself be scared by thes butt heads.

CALLED ME TODAY, ASKING FOR A DAMN PAYMENT OF SOMETHING I OWE BACK IN 2008. TAKE NOTE, THEY WANT MY BANK ROUTING NUMBER, BANK NAME AND ALL THOSE IMPORTANT INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE. THEY EVEN THREAT OF ME SENDING ME TO COURT IF I DON'T GIVE THE INFORMATION WITHIN 15MINUTES.

THESE PEOPLE ARE BUNCH OF SCAMS! AND I AM NOT GOING TO BE ONE OF THEIR VICTIMS.
