received a call, oliver edwin stated that my wife (she is on disability 0 was elgible for a$9000 grant from federal reserve bank (PROGRAM EXPIRES IN 2017).wanted 300 in i tunes gift cards and then another 500. OW stated that they have been trying to reach her before the expiration. OW has mid eastern accent, would not give out phone numbers but would switch to different people for answers

Grant scams:

The government does not call people up and offer them free money because you paid your taxes on time, have never been arrested, have paid all your bills, or whatever excuse they can make up.  In order to get a grant you need a valid reason (not one of the above and not just because you need money), you have to fill out tons and tons of paperwork, wait a long time, and might not even get the grant in the end.  If you are lucky enough to get the grant after all that paperwork, they do not ask you to pay taxes, transfer fees, or any other types of fees.  Also, please note that the government would never ask you to pay these so called taxes or fees to some anonymous person using Western Union, Moneygram, or any of the cards such as iTunes cards which is a new favorite among foreign scammers.
