888-689-8939

I got an odd voicemail from 888-689-8939.  Said if i want to sell my vehicle I had to respond.  I assume it is about the vehicle I had on Craigslist. I googled the number and found this site.  Thank God for google!

THey just called again!  I'm thinking of reporting them

I recognized this automated 888-689-8939 number as being an unsolicited recording re:  Craig's list ad, so I didn't answer it.  Even though the ad says unsolicited calls are being reported to www.donotcall.gov, they still call, so each time I have reported these unsolicited numbers.  Maybe everyone should report them to this website and they would eventually be stopped.

i also receive a call from this number at least 3 times a week.i hate it. i wonder how i can get thing guy to stop calling?

These guys are an advertising company wanting to charge you money to advertise items that you have for sale. They find you on craigs list, auto trader etc... They claim to be a charity because charities are exempt from the do not call registry but they really are not. They call from numbers such as 1-323-813-0334, 1-323-813-0335, 1-323-813-0336 leaving retuen numbers like 1-888-689- 8939 or 1-888-836-6284 so they have a bunch of phone lines with a computer generating thousands of calls all day long. If you are registered with the do not call registry simply keep filing a complaint at www.donotcall.gov (it takes 2 minutes)every time that they call and if you do not have your number registered then it is a GREAT idea to do so because once any number gets a certain amount of complaints the telemarketers are fined HEAVILY by the feds. I have found that if you call them and request to be taken off of their list your calls become more frequent and later in the evenings. I still get them after 10:00 pm... especially on weekends. Also... you can contact the phone company and file a complaint with them and they will tell you what to do to file harassment charges with them.

Funny.  I got the same EXACT craiglist reply for my listing in Wisconsin, but the email address is VanceChapman.67@yahoo.com.  I'm so glad I google'd their number and found this thread.

I also just received a call with the same types of messages asking to call this 888 number.  However, the person who left the message for me said his name was Nick and the number he called from was 703-430-8333.

Just received the same call except mine is from Blain at 777-624-8689 and to call 888-689-8939

"Bailey" from "National Motor Sales" left me a message with this phone number.  He saw my ad for a car on Craigslist in Washington State.  After reading the complaints, I won't be calling him back!

I received an automated message from Dan. Just like the others that have reported here..I decided to Google the number before responding. I am happy that I did. Bummer! I really need to sell my motorcycle that I have listed on Creig's List. Thanks for the heads-up

I don't trust these people, They also call from 775-624-8689, the guy calling me was Tyler, same bs same scam.  beware!  I did have a Craigslist ad selling my car...

How do we stop these harassing calls?

Same with me......said they seen my boat for sale on Craigslist.....888-689-8939 Trever.....but the call came in as 775-624-8689...see this posting...looks like a major scam.

to sell my motorcycle the person said that he was call about the motorcycle and i had price it below bluebook value and he could do better
i know what the bike is valued at so be careful.the guys name was Vance.

Has anyone recieved an email from a Steve Carson about a job posting on craigslist. I received an email tha is sounding a little fishy to me. Maybe some money launding, wanting to send me a check to cash then he will "direct me on what to do next" dont know if this is the same guy, but either way...I would say stay away!
