Despite having been on the "do not call" list since I received my new phone number over 9 months ago, I received a recorded call about noon today (7/27/2010), from "Steven" at "ALS", offering help with my (non-existent) problems with the IRS.   It gave 888-701-4211 as a call-back number.

Message was:
"The IRS's granted assistance to businesses, and qualified individuals who are currently struggling, or behind on their federal or state tax. Hi. This is Steven with ALS. If you are behind on your taxes this can result in having your wages garnished, bank accounts levied or Possible jail time. If you, owe 10000 dollars or more in back taxes. Take action now. We can now legally reduce or in some cases eliminate your federal and state tax liability. Press 2 mow, or call (888) 701-4211 to speak to a representative. This will be your only notice to respond. Press 9 To Opt Out and deny immediate protection. Again, press 2 now to speak to a representative, goodbye. "

Same as Sydnet and Mark, got a robocall from "Steven" at "ALS", offering help with my (non-existent) problems with the IRS.   Listed 888-701-4211 as a call-back number.  I've been on the Do Not Call list for years.

those Tax Specialist [***] cannot keep this up, and use nationally endorsed logos and businesses. Its outrageous that CNN, FoxNews and others are endorsing these guys' telemarketing calls to the listed registry phone numbers!!. They are making a mockery of Govt also and dragging legit American business marketing in America into the sewer.
