I have continually been contacted for years over an "Armando Pejona" that the caller has been trying to reach. I have no idea who this is. Usually it's to call back or have my lawyer call or legal action will be taken. Nothing ever happens. The number calling is always restricted, but they give a call back number. This time, they had my full name, and said if I am not a reference, to please let them know. But I have turned up one other post saying this is a scam. Is it??? Has anyone else experienced the same!? What do I do?

I just received a call from this number also.  They left two threatening voicemails prior with my social.  I called told them to cease and desist the calls and they told me “no” the calls will continue.  Clearly they don’t  understand the Federal Collections Laws.  They also called me a ”liar.”  They also stated they will be sharing my social security number with everyone.   I asked them for their company and address in which they kept hanging up on me.   I called 25 times and now the phone number is no longer in service.

Well, if you don't know this person then yes, of course it's a scam. You can call and tell them you don't know this person but I don't they listen or care. Scammers just want to get money from anyone they can.

Clearly you don't understand the collection laws either. A verbal cease and desist is useless. It must be in writing, mailed certified. Of course, since you can't get them to give you their information you can't mail them that letter so you can at least block their number.

Omg!!!! For about 2 months. I have been getting RESTRICTED calls to my cell phone. They are asking for a familiar name. They have continued to call me and I tell them to stop!! They say they are trying to reach "John Smith" (I leaving out real name) & that if I don't tell them his address they will seek legal action. I tell them to come find him. They even named an old address that this said person once resided at. I have no clue why they are trying to reach him as they will not disclose anything other than "we are required to give this message, you must have this person call the attorney "so & so associates" & if we try to contact him again you will get a fine!! So at this point I am beyond frustrated and have stopped answering. If it is a collection they can serve papers to the person they are trying to find. They even told me there is a lawsuit against this person & a complaint. I call [***] at this point. I even called our local court house they looked up the name of the person that this caller is trying to reach and said don't give them ANY of their info! It is possible that it's a scam.

PS this is the number they are asking you to call and now it's a disconnected "Verizon wireless #"

I just received a call from these idiots and they’re not to smart! If you expect fir someone to respond to your call, why the %#%^would you hang up as soon as they say “hello”?? What’s the purpose?? People are not as dumb as you sound, so get a life and do something positive with yourself!!

Says it's from Geek Squad/Intuit about a computer maintenance renewal.
