A pop up screen that has locked up my computer has this number to call.  any suggestions besides calling them no stop and hanging up?

Some type MalWare was viewing a slide show got a message "only 12 more to go"  then a page loaded directing me to call number.  This is my first Mac so I'm not sure how to back out of it

this came as a pop-up to stop pop-ups saying my computer was infected:; call the number. I don't think it is really a SAFARI  number as advertised.   Was not looking at anything "bad," but it locked up my screen and placed cookies on my Mac for "suspicious activity and possible Malware.  I thin it is the Malware.. This is the second time.

I was using my friends computer and the pop appeared telling me to call the number 1-888-701-7464. I could not shut of my computer so I called the number. A man with Indian accent asked me if he can help me. I told him that I want to know who he is , his name and his company before telling him the issue. he hang up on me. I do not know who to report to. Any idea?

these pepople r scams call them and u eed to call them and get ifo about the company and report them to bbr in yor state  please!

SCAM  VIRUS

How do we get rid of this scam pop up??? I am on a Mac and it says I am useing windows so I know it's a scam. I have switched browsers, but want to get this off of Safari?  Any help??
