Voice message “Name a (My last name)  file number (My last four SSN#) contact number 844-339-6586 hello my name is Henry Ross I'm currently in the process of trying to locate and individual who is involved with a mutual client of ours the client has requested the current location information of this person and they have provided this phone number as a way to get a hold of them now I presume our mutual client would not of requested my assistance if there was not some type of miscommunication or lack there of but my office is able to petition and associates and relatives report as well as the location and information report on them but before doing so we want to give the benefit of the doubt and try to reach out using information as individual provided previously _⁠_ the client one last time before moving on and locating them using all _⁠_⁠_⁠_ I apologize that I can't going to details on this message but we were under the assumption that they should already know what this is about so if you can please assist me by having this person contact my office immediately and we will be able to go in detail and provide any type of further reference the name and contact information will repeat it again now for you to write down and pass along or if and only if you are the person maintenance response _⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_⁠_ you may press six to be transferred to speak with a live agent thank you very much for your time and for your help have a good day name a Johnson file number 1-294-938-(My last four SSN#) contact number 844-339-6586…”

I got the same call on 2/17/2022 - 888-701-8664 called the house number and claims they have to reach me and my claim number was interesting as it was the last 4 digits of my SSN! Said I had to call 844-339-6586 to clear it up.  Not going to happen.  My Identity was stolen in February 2020 and LIFELOCK has been protecting me and I don't have any outstanding debt.

I got the same call.  It seems like a scam to me.

One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them so that they can scare that person into paying extortion money.  They will usually also state information that would be illegal for a real debt collector to state to department and tell them that you are a deadbeat who does not pay their bills.  They often call people that have never even been a third party such as that you are being sued, that you owe money to someone, etc. They threaten that if you do not call them back, they will contact your HR associated with you because they get erroneous information off the internet.

The fake process server/location finder extortion SCAM usually consists of the following:

They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency.  They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  They threaten to serve you at home or at work.  They tell you that if they serve you at work then they will need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work.  They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID.  None of which is true.  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.  They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”.  Court documents are time sensitive and must be served within a certain amount of time.  Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there really is a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

I'm giving you a call here today and regards to seal documents that require your signature sure because mail through USPS has yielded no results for the filing party. So all they hired me to find you and hand-deliver use a document. They are trying to get to you. I am scheduled to be going to your house tomorrow between 12 and 3. You will need two forms of ID as well as a witness to sign off on these documents. If you are not home, I will have to find you to get these to you. So I will be headed out to your place of employment if you're not at work and I have to speak with your supervisor to find out when you work next and then if after that I still can't get a hold of you. I will be going out to friends neighbors and family package that I have on file to get it more information for the delivery. If in the end I do fail to locate you for the delivery. Unfortunately, this will be reported back as ignored and refused and the violent partner will end up taking further action to get you this information. If you would like to speak to them prior to my arrival to reschedule, you can contact them at the number provided at the end of this message along with the reference number listed. In America, process servers do NOT warn you.  The have two forms of ID & a witness are scare tactics.

Omg!!! I just got the same message!!! Same “guy” Frank!

I received a call from this so-called Frank,  who left the same upsetting and threatening message on my voice mail.  The message was verbatim,  and I thought it was rather idiotic to record a message like that.  In any case,  I am glad I researched this phone number.  I was so upset when I received this message that I threw up!  Now, I don't have to sit alone in my apartment, in fear,  wondering if and when a thug will appear at my door.

Received the same message today. the 888-701-8664 left me a voice message claiming they needed to come to my home between 12pm-3pm on 2/25/2022 to give me some documents and I needed to provide to pieces of ID. and referenced a case # with the last 4 of my SS#. Also said to reschedule the appt (which I never made one), then to contact 844-339-6586. Which I contact this number and asked who they were, the guy said ARS. I asked what is ARS and he said they were mediators for a client. I asked who the client was and he would not tell me. I didn't even get this person's name and on the voice message there was no name or company name mentioned either. I told him, that no one is coming to my home or business and talking with people to get information about me. He told me to "just shut up" and hung up. I called 888 number and the message is exactly the same as the 844 number. I really hope that someone does show up at my home because my retired husband will meet them with a 22 rifle as a welcome to them. I too had identity theft and these guys used my married name which I have not used since 2011. I don't know about you folks but I am pretty tired of these collection companies. They need to be illegal nationwide.
