- BrendaI did not get a call, but instead a letter in the mail---never heard of them. Same story here...urgent attempt to contact me, please call to be sure that that card has not been intercepted---not going to call after reading this.
I figure if I do call, then I would have initiated the contact (via phone anyways) then they will have the right to pester me to death!!!- Caller: Mulligan Merchant

- don| 1 replyIn 1999, I received a letter in the mail that said the same basic things about having sent me a Mastercard in the mail. This was back in the days of PreApproved Cards for everyone. I had never heard of any such thing. I don't use any credit cards. I threw the letter away and 2 years ago (12 years later) I get this phone call from Portfolio Recovery Associates claiming default on this mastercard and demanding payment for almost $500.00 dollars, saying that the interest will continue running until paid. I had no idea what they were talking about. I demanded written validation of the debt, but all they sent was a single letter stating that I owed them. After researching, I found that a Premiere bank had claimed they sent me the card, and charged all kinds of fees on it for activation and account set up to the tune of a couple hundered dollars. I had never heard from them in all those years and they first turned it over to Arrow collections who sold it to Portfolio Recovery. All of these things happened and I had never even knew that such a card was in existance.
To make a long story short, or a short story long, this Bank and others were doing this and getting by with it for several years until the FTC nailed them. I disputed the debt with Portfolio Recovery and never heard from them again. So...Be wary of these letters and claims that they sent you a card. They damn well may be cooking up something for later. The thieves are even in what is assumed a legitimate business anymore. - Alfalfa replies to donBe careful. PRA is notorious for sending 1099-C's on disputed and unvalidated debts. If you receive one dispute it with the IRS ASAP---otherwise you will end up with a bill for back taxes.
As for these "preapproved" credit card offers--I have a dedicated place reserved just for them: Through my shredder. Barclay's is the worst. - Xx replies to DPThere isn't any building at that address, only new construction

- VioletI received a notice in the mail (like that of a secure check with the perforated tabs on all 4 sides). The letter read that this was my second notice and there was a reference account number listed- 16 digits like a credit card.
The letter also read that they (Milligan Merchant Cash Card) had sent me a merchant cash card with advance line of credit up to $150,000. I was to call immediately to find the lost card or to activate the card if in my possession.
I was alarmed at first, worrying that someone had stolen my identity, but I also wondered if it was a scam. Next I did an internet search and found out that it was, indeed, a scam.- Caller: Milligan Merchant Cash Card
- JEC replies to KimOn Google maps that address is listed for Appstar Financial another company with a lot of bad reviews.
