They claim to be a law office trying to give me info regarding pending lawsuit, of which I have none. They want you to verify you ssi#. For them to give you the info. Sounds like a big scam.

This is a common scam. These people have credit records and are phishing for easy targets. I know it's credit related because the name they used for me was an incorrect spelling which only appeared on one specific card I had over 10 years ago. There is no "pending action" and there is no "case" - if there was, you would have been served with a citation to appear in court.

Also, they called both parents immediately after me.  The caller claims they are attempting to deliver a "legal package" to my address. Each parent was called, and each was given a different, and out-of-date, address from my history.

This voicemail from "Haley" from a number marked by my phone as suspected spam:

"This an urgent message for [invalid name].  My name is Haley and I am contacting you in reference to a matter that has been directed to my office for legal action consideration, including the filing of a lawsuit. To discuss the pending actions which may be filed, you need to contact the firm which is directly handling your case at 888-710-4129. Please reference your case number as [number]. Please be advised that this is a time-sensitive matter and all calls will be logged and submitted as proof that you have been notified of these pending legal matters. Failure to respond will result in the firm proceeding without your consent."

Part 2:

Just received a follow-up call that I let go to voicemail:

"This urgent message is intended for [me]. My name is Haley. This is my 3rd and final attempt to contact you in regards to a complaint that has been forwarded back to my office for consideration of legal action. At this point, the firm needs to speak with you within the next 24 hours in regards to the verification of the address on file. Failure to respond will result in the firm proceeding without your consent.  They can be reached at [number] and make reference to case file [number]"

Note, never specifies the name of the office. Never provides relevant information about the case number, such as the court where it was filed, or the name of "the firm." The repeated attempts to lure people in is laughable, and I'll continue updating as this continues.

I also filed a complaint with donotcall.gov since my number is on the national Do Not Call registry.  Let's see what happens :)

You should have filed with the FTC and your State's Attorney General. Debt collection calls are exempt from using the Do Not Call list but have their own rules about calling.

They keep calling me on my cell and work place leaving me urgent message the caller is named Haley calling from a fake firm regards to a law suit pending action which I don’t have any lawsuit pending

I got the same exact message - for  2 days in a row. I was trying to block this call on my IPhone, but it's not available since it shows marked as No Caller ID. Anyway, I know this is a scam, so I'll just ignore it.

This called called for my ex-husband with a case number and claimed that if he did not respond they would go ahead with the pending action.

I am getting these same calls but the girl uses a different name.  Other than her name the wording previously reported by others is exactly the same!  This is a dangerous scam.  Going to be contacting my state's Attorney General tomorrow.
