They have been calling and claiming we have a recent unpaid bill with a company that we have not used for years. Here is their website. bureauofcollection.com/. They refused to send us a bill, so I am not planing on paying.

This idiot Indian guy called me saying I owed 143 on my Cingular wireless account which I closed in 2004!
How idiot is that?
When I closed the account, the balance is 0!

I have repeatedly advised the caller that the person they are looking for has not had the number they are calling since I moved into my house 10 years ago.

I am an old lady on a pension, but this people keep calling me to say I owe them money or to pay or else they report me to credit bureau or place lien on my house.

I do not owe anybody money as I always pay by cash or money order as I do not own any credit cards.

I do not spend money on anything except food and medicine.

Why do they do this to me?

I think this is definitely a scam and they just want to steal my money.

They continually call and ask for someone who does not live here.  When I say that I have never heard of the person they hang-up, but then will call back several hours late.

I have had the same Indian guy calling me. I have repeatedly told them not to contact me at the number that they are calling. They call at least 9 times a day and are very harassing. I am going to report them to the FTC for violation of the FDCPA. Which is what I suggest anyone else to do! This is the WORST collection agency I have ever seen!

Send these idiots a CEASE AND DESIST letter VIA Certified Mail (with return receipt requested):

Dear Collector,

I am responding to your constant phone calls! In accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I demand that you:

Stop emailing me at home, at work, or any other location!

In accordance with federal law, once you've received this letter. you may only contact me to:

Provide proof that I owe this debt that you claim I owe;
Provide a copy of my State and Federal rights concerning this debt including how to dispute this debt;
Provide proof that you are licensed in my state, and provide me with your license number;
to advise me that further efforts are being terminated;
to notify me that you may invoke specified remedies;
to notify me that you intend to invoke a specified remedy.
Be advised that I am keeping accurate records of all correspondence concerning this issue, including tape recordings of your phone calls. If you continue harassing me, you will be in violation of the FDCPA, Section 805(c) -- "Ceasing Collection Calls and Communication"

If they continue to call you after you have received proof that they signed for the letter, you collect $1,000 PER violation.

They keep calling asking for my ex-husband. We have been divorced for 9 years. I keep telling them he does not live at this phone number. When they verify the address, it's not this phone number. I have ask them repeatedly to remove this phone number and they refuse until I give them his phone number. I don't speak nor do I know where he is.

I also received this call twice at work..first time it was for me then second call for one of our co-workers..I have called them adn they want my social security number before they give me information on what I owe..I donot we anybody anything i know i am not in collection...i called the Better business bureau and that company has no reports adn 169 complaints. I think its a scam...and please do not fall for this..they want your personal information dont do it.. just get your credit report and if u do owe any money then it will show in your credit report.. if not then we all know its a scam for sure.

I got a call from this number on a Sunday morning asking me to call them during their office hours.  In Oregon it is not legal to call someone on Sunday.  I am thinking to turning them into the FTC for this violation.

I have no call information other than what they left of my voice mail, as the number they are calling a digital pager.

Since we moved into our house in August, we persistently get calls from a Washington number that ask us to call "BCR" at 1-888-714-2338. These calls come in the early morning, middle of the night, weekends - all the time. Once I answered and spoke with someone (who, yes, sounded like an Indian guy) and said that he had the wrong number. He said he would make a note in the file, but the next day, I received another call. This is very irritating - but thank goodness for Caller ID.

We keep getting calls from BCR, we got them a year ago and I got upset and they stopped.  Then a couple months ago they started again.  I told the gentleman, foreigner, that we were on the no call list.. he apologized up and down and hung up.  Now they're back, this time a gal, who won't take no for an answer.... How do we get these people to stop calling?
