This is a different situation. They will not call you. This is a routing phone number for computer support companies. The problem is they use aggressive black hat type marketing, full of fearful impending doom for your computer. NEVER use these companies. They will ALWAYS find a problem on your machine. Then they will talk you into letting them remotely control your computer, and install all their software, which is often crap quality 3rd rate stuff. Or, it will actually put more adware and/or malware on your system. If you get one of these so called "system reports" that you have a major problem, and to call this (or any other) number, immediately close the message. If, like what happened to me, the message won't close, ignore their warnings and reboot your machine.

I was just surfing the internet and landed on a web site where suddenly a popup appeared with this messasge:

Just as djbrady105 said above it's a scam!!!!

I received the same error message. When I called the "technician" she wanted to remotely connect to my computer. I had my work laptop which I searched this "Microsoft Technician Support" number and the search didn't appear on any microsoft legitimate website. And luckily I called from a phone that my number was blocked.  I disconnect the call and never gave them access to my computer. I did a Ctrl+Alt+Delete and forced the shut-down.

Tried to access a web page I use a couple times a week, when a message screen appeared, stating an error had occurred on my computer, along with an annoying beeping sound.  It listed the number to call for Microsoft
Support...1-888-726-7294.  the screen also advised not to re-boot the system.  Beware, the only way to rid one's self of this screen appears to re-boot the computer.  Had just completed a anti-virus scan of computer about 2 hours earlier.

Total scam!!!!

Shut down and reverse check the IP address then block it.

I sure wish I read this first. I was stupid and called the number I let them use my computer and after they told me to pay them $299 I hung up and now my computer will not work at all.

I was scammed by this I called 888 726 7294 spoke to supposedly Judy Scott who gave me a call back number of 844-231-0984 told me it would cost $299 to fix my computer after I hung up and did not pay my computer would not work at all I called back the number and it was disconnected I call back the original number and they did not know Judy Scott and would not give me any information I was requesting total scam I am so mad at myself I could even hear someone yelling in the background too bad I read this after I got scammed

Last night on Thursday Oct.28,2015 I was using PC on Google Chrome. And the exact same Message Popped Up. I'm not Tech Savvy. I couldn't close browser. I call no. & no one answered. I hour later it went away. What did they do to my PC.I had just run a Malwarebytes  Scan & Norton. I knew something was wrong when no one answered the phone. Thanks for telling Me. Next X I'll just Reboot PC

how to reverse check the IP adress

I have had this screen come up several times. The first time they said I would have to pay $250 and give them access to my computer. I said before I do this I want the Apple information desk phone number and they couldn't provide that so I said sounds like a scam. I called the second time to gather more information to bust these guys and asked questions which they gave me many lies about how they are a reputable PC company and gave me a website to go to. I asked them then how come I could just clear it with Clear History and they hung up angry. Called back and glad I did because this 1-888-726-7294 number is a calling center and I got another guy that said to go to a total different website to verify that they weren't scamming me. So pcsolutionsltd.com and pinpointmicrosoft.com and pcfix.com are all linked to this SCAM. I hope this gets out to everyone and something can be done to stop these criminals.

Just got the scary scam message pop up on my computer.  Jerk on other end wouldn't tell me what company they really were.  Said Total Solutions, a Microsoft solutions provider or something.   Not good. I didn't let him remote into my computer but he really wanted to!

Just got hit with the same thing, called the call center, didn't get a single response the first two times, got the third time, they did not identify themselves as soon as they answered, I asked who they were and what they do, missed the company name (something international), he seemed very guarded initially until I identified why I was calling he launched into some BS about malware and youtube/general websites leaving stuff on my comp and damaging my system and he would be "happy to help me out".  I immediately declined and backed out of the call ASAP, he did not seem too heartbroken.  Googled the number and found this site, glad to know my suspicion was right about this being a hot load of garbage.

Just got my scary loud squealing message telling me to call them. Listened to loud music for 4 minutes then hung up and looked them up. So glad they didn't answer after I saw all this!

When the threat pops up (and it's happening more often lately), I immediately access Windows Task Manager (ctrl alt delete), highlight Chrome, and click "end task." That takes care of it. No need to reboot.

Ya this message popped up on my laptop telling me to call it! Thought I should google the number first to see if it was real! Good thing I did his first

I had them remotely sign in to my computer and they supposedly fixed it, I paid $240. dollars with my credit card and I left them a message, because they had send me a receipt that the $240.- was techsupport for 6mtn and I told the I will not pay $240.- dollar every 6mth, that is a scam, they reversed the payment on my creditcard and that woman kept calling me to call her back, which I never did, I assume they reversed the charges by accident and wanted to charge again. I just now had that error again with that loud noise and I called them and that guy said without asking me, "Is it a apple computer" and he said, the problem is in my Network, I told him my net work is T-Mobile and they his number popped up on the T-Mobile website and I will not pay anything and I told him he is a crook and he hang up, I rebooted my laptop and it is okay.

Please tell me how to reverse check the IP address and how to block it?

I have received this pop-up a couple of times & always reboot my computer. I found it suspicious that the message refers me to contact a Microsoft certified technician but I use a Mac.

I received a text message with my full home address and a link to click on. I deleted the text.
