was on the computer looking up recipes, this Microsoft thing came up and said I was being hacked and I could not get rid of the message.  Was skeptical but said all my info was being hacked and the number I called was not the above number., Asked them who they were and said I needed to upgrade my computer and all this mess. I hung up and they called back and I told them there was a lot of background noise and I did not believe them and would get Geek squad to check it out and they said why did I call them, and I told them I could not get rid of them no matter how much I clicked. I got really suspicious, gave them no info and turned my computer off and then it came back on with no problem. I was suspicious from the first. Will probably hear from the again but I have whistle that I will use to blow in their ears. Did not fall for this, but being that I could not get them no matter what I clicked on kind of thought there might be a problem but then got wise to them.
They are sorry [***] and need to be stopped.

Was online when this Microsoft thing came up and said I was being hacked . Called the number for Microsoft (supposedly) and a foreigner answered ,I hung up. They called back but I didn't answer .

Was online, Microsoft popped up, saying i wouldnt be able to exit the screen until i called or gave my information because of a virus, i called the number, a foreign woman picked up and knew exactly what the problem was before i said anything, i hung up and blocked the number after she called me back.

I was going through my email and this message came on my computer saying I've been hacked I called the number some foreign lady answered it I hung up she called me back I knew right away it was a scam so I played along she asked me for my computer password my address social security number my first and last name I told her I knew it was a scam and then I was going to call the police to investigate. she hung up.. ((((ppl Please be aware of scammers give no personal information!!!!!))))))

I was online when the MS message came up. I called the number on the message, no answer, they called me back right away wanting me to pay $199.00 after asking a bunch of questions and wanting access to my computer. Of course I said no and hung up. These folks are scammers, Scammer I say! do not give them access to your pc/network.

Just  hit Ctrl/Alt-Delete and then the log out sign.  This gets you out and simply log back on.
