- Harassed| 1 replyCalled my son's cell, my cell and left messages saying they have a summons to serve, have already missed service and am danger of missing court date. I called and it is Riley Law (supposedly) in San Diego and that they file lawsuits in all fifty states. When I asked the court date, they said there isn't one yet until I get served. Sounded very fishy.
- Jame replies to HarassedHi, I got the same call, did you have any more info from that number
- LennyI got the same call stating they have tried to serve me but was unable to. They also give me a case number. I seem to have remembered getting a similar call several months ago stating they were going to serve me papers ( although never said what for ) at my fathers old address. This has scam written all over it, I simply passed on the information to my attorney.
- ConfusedJust had this number call and leave a message on my phone and my husband phone looking for my mother saying she is in jeopardy of missing a court date and left a court case number. Is this real or a scam???
How did they get mine and my husband's number?- Caller: Nationwide Processing
- Heather| 1 replythis number has contacted everyone in my family except me stating I have missed a court date. But I have had 2 background checks ran on me for work so that would of probably should up then? Right? Scam
- MJG replies to HeatherThis is the "pay us for it to go away" SCAM. The caller has noting to do with the court system. They are hoping to extort money from you. If in doubt, contact your local court house.
- ClaireI just got this call asking for my son and telling me he has to sign papers or he a failure to appear will be on his record. I immediately called my son (who happens to be an attorney) who said he had just gotten the same call. Total Scam.
- CWG40IDs themselves as "Legal Office". Would not give me any more information. Became combative. I think this is a debt scamming operation in California. Not certain. Ignore and block the calls.
- Does not feel right| 1 replyReceived phone call today at my work place. Told my employer I was being served papers at my place of business tomorrow.
Spoke with someone named "Ronald Stone" from "Riley Law Firm".
Was told they have tried reaching me several times and sending things to my address.
I have received no such phone call, nor have I received anything by mail.
Does not feel right... - Got it to replies to Does not feel rightThis must be a scam i got the same call and called the guy and told him i will come in and pick up the papers. he stated asking 20 questions and then hung up does not sound like a law firm to me, SCAMMMM
- Scamhave been getting calls from these people. Claiming I owed an old debt in another place but I do not owe the debt. Called them back they said I would end up in court with a ten-year judgment and check garnishment. Of course, I could avoid it if I paid them. The Riley law group. I told him no I would rather go to court, he said he would note it to my account as a refusal. I said good deal. thought that would be the end but here we are three days later and I got a call from a girl claiming she was with the court. I contacted the court of course and they let me in on a little secret. Then she calls the next day claiming to be with the police in the area and again they said ignore and place a report with them. Today she calls again this time she is with the processing office for the court. I argued with these people two days and decided I am done because they are not going to stop even though they know I know they are scamming, they still keep trying. Scary part is they have some of my info and that is frustrating. I did not give it to them, but they have some. Wanted me to confirm it as correct I did not confirm anything. I will be changing my number because this is becoming disruptive.
- Caller: Riley Law office, county clerk, county pd.
- Call type: Debt collector
- Does not fee right- continuedI was contacted again today, this time from an "Unavailable" number saying that she is with the ________ County Court. She butchered the name of the county I used to live in, claiming that she "had just moved here and cannot pronounce it correctly"... very easy name to pronounce, regardless of length of residency.
She proceeded to say she was calling from a third party on behalf of Riley Law Firm... but then stated she was with the _______ County Court. Once again, was not a legitimate call.
I told her that I had filed a fraud report with the credit bureau and that I was filing a police report.
I would advise you all to do the same. A "company" ran my credit on July 7, 2015 WITHOUT my knowledge or consent, meaning they have too much personal information.
I now have a fraud alert report on my name for 90 days to start.
I also called the company that they say I owe money to, or that they are collecting on behalf of- The company has no record of me in their system. I have no debt owed.- Caller: Riley Law Firm, County Court
- Does not feel right- part 3| 1 replyJust called the 888-732-9593 # back to inform them that I had filed identity theft and police reports. I was immediately hung up on.
Not even 10 seconds later I received a phone call from: 650-372-5866. When answered, an automated message stated (something along the lines of): Home invasions happen every 10 seconds in America. Are you protected. Are you interested in a home security system. If so, press 1, if not and wish to be added to our do not call list press 9.
Seems like a weird linked threat, seeing as how I have never received ad calls on my cell phone before.
The numbers that seem to be linked with this scam are:
888-732-9593
909-247-3263
909-608-7130
650-372-5866
And a "company" called: United Payment Center
All numbers and "companies" are linked to southern California.
Check your credit reports!!
File fraud alerts!
File police reports!
These people are terrible. - Jamie replies to Does not feel right- part 3How do you file a police report for this? I'm getting the same calls. Thanks.
- Manny N.I got a call earlier from the number 1 (857) 400-2357. The lady told me that my mother Ms.Gonzalez is in jeopardy. First of all I knew this was a scam because my mother changed that last name 7 years ago. Then the address they gave was the one we used to live. I told them that I live not even a minute from my old house and that I could recive the "documents". The woman said that I couldn't because I did not live there anymore and if My mother did not recive them, she will get a warrant. After that they gave me the phone number (888) 732-9593. I wanted to pull a few strings and called the guy. The Ramirez law firm tried to get my information. I told the person that I will go to the police station to confirm when the court date is and they hung up. I am a 13 year old male and these people are calling children so they could get parents information. People explain to your child not to give information over the phone and the harms this could cause.
