Obnoxious noise and messages received while using Facebook. "report pages" told me windows defender/Windows have detected an infection/computer is compromised, etc.. Should cal this number right away for tech assist. I knew this was not the way Microsoft contacts its customers.

Same here - locked up the computer with report pages, alarms, and recording to call this number right away.

It is a scam & did lock up my mom's computer. After scanning the computer I did find a virus. So please scan your computer after you restart it. I will send an email to facebook to help remove the link from facebook.  Here are some programs that will help make sure your computer don't have malware on it. Hitman pro & Malwarebytes just google them & use the free trial. use hitman pro 1st, then Malwarebytes after you will have to run them on every user account on your computer. Hope this helps anyone who is having problems with their computer.

Online scam to get you to call the "Microsoft Technical Center", where some Middle Eastern [***] will tell you he can fix your computer for a fee.  I tried getting a price from him but he wanted too much information first.  Not good scammers, just they are careful about getting caught.  They may actually be in India, so we have no way of getting at them.  My phone company says it's not their problem, and the DO NO CALL website is worthless for this type of scam.
