Student Loan forgiveness?  I've been out of school many years and my student loans were paid off a looong time ago.  These folks (SPAMERS)  need to stop fishing!

This is a robocall with a recorded voice to make it sound like a real person is leaving you a message. "Hi this is Nicole, I wanted to let you know that your student loans have been flagged for forgiveness. If you owe more than $10K and are not currently enrolled in school you may qualify for the 2019 loan forgiveness program. Call me or one of my colleagues today to see how much you will save at 888-739-8526" This is a scam! These fraudsters commonly promise student debt forgiveness and lower payments and often demand upfront fees up to thousands of dollars for this “service,” which is illegal. The FTC recently launched “Operation Game of Loans,” an effort to crackdown on these companies around the country. https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/repay-loans/avoiding-loan-scams.  REPORT these calls.

Yes Very Much So!! I got caught up in it ,promised $19000 of my loan squashed and only pay $21.00 a month there after. Totally Bogus!! Dept of Education does not do this and it's illegal to call and offer this program. Always have a paper trail!! Luckily my bank was able to file a claim against the Company!!

Got a call (voicemail, because I don’t answer unfamiliar numbers) this morning from 888-739-8526 about student loan forgiveness. I didn’t believe it, but I’m glad I came upon this site to confirm my suspicions.

I got the same message from Jonathan as everyone else.  Trusted my gut enough to research before calling back.  I do have Student Loans but currently working with Dept of Ed.  Scammers need to find real jobs that don't mess with peoples emotions. Showed up on my cell as (999)999-9999....

Call from # 209-268-1553: "Hey there, this is Jonathan and I'm calling to inform you that your student loans have been flagged for a forgiveness program. If you owe more than $10,000 and are not currently enrolled in school you could qualify for reduced monthly payment and a large portion on your balance to be forgiven. To redeem your spot in the program, it's important that you call me quickly at 888-738-8526. Again the number is ---. Hope you're having a great day! We look forward to speaking with you."

I have never been to college...no student loans here. No company name given, call came through and IMMEDIATELY went to voicemail.
