    didn't answer, but just got a call. Doesn't look like the typical register.com or kaiser perm. call either.

    It is Register.com.

    They have tried to call me at least 7 times in the last 3 weeks,  almost always dead air when I answer the phone, as their call center is most likely using predictive dialers that pre-dial for the next sales call..

    Today I waited almost one minute and then a person came on the line and tried to sell services to help drive more traffic to one of the domains I manage for a client.

    I use several ISP/Hosts (Register,  Go_Daddy, Time Warner,  etc.) , and the register.com account for this client was already set up when I started managing it.   I am not sure is Register.com is aware of the sales approach by who ever is selling the service to help drive more traffic,  but the dead air predictive dialer, is very un-professional, wasting my time with at least 7 calls before a real person was on the line when I picked up.

    It does not represent register.com in a good way at all and at least in my case may effect my future client referrals to use them,

    It's register.com.  They called and I told them the person they wanted to speak with would be home after 6 p.m.  They said they would try back then, and in the 3 days since have called 4 times, all before 6 p.m.  The best part is they hang up when I answer now!

    I keep getting calls to my Google Voice number from this 888 number. The message they leave is just silence. I would believe it's Register.com. Their service has gone downhill ever since I started using them 10 years ago. I'm transferring all my domains to another service, but I can't seem to transfer my "<first>.<last>.name" account because no one will accept the transfer.

    Oh well; I use my Google Voice number as my 'spam' number. I guess it's working.

    they call my cell 4 to 5 a day......how do I get them to stop.....it is annoying!

    I called back. It is Register.Com marketing. They don't even record that called you. They guessed that's why they called.

    They call every day while I'm at work and never leave a message, I screen my calls so they will never get a hold of me unless someone leaves a message. It's very annoying, I am very dissatisfied with their services.

    Three calls a day at least for a month. Relentless! Never answer the phone anyway. Caller ID is worth its weight.

    Calls sometimes twice a day, every day for over a week. Same as above... I called the number and just sat there on hold for a half hour and finally hung up.

    They call my cell phone!!! And I don't have unlimited minutes. I think I'll quit using Register.com.

    I use Call Control on my cell phone.  You can get it for very little cost and it is nice to place all calls I don't ever want again on my "blocked" list, since telemarketers hang up before I can tell them put me on the "do not call" list.  Only thing I don't like is it notifies me when a blocked caller contacts me. If I block them, I don't want to have any info on them.

    I've been getting these calls nearly every day for weeks.  I finally just called the number back.  Normally, that doesn't work, but in this case a Register.com agent (telemarketer) answered and I politely requested that I be added to their do-not-call list.  I explained that this system of theirs is likely to backfire on them and that they should reconsider it.

    While I am on the national do-not-call list, I have a Register.com account and that means they may legally market to me on the phone while I am their customer and for up to 18 months after I leave.  

    Blocking them with software is one approach, but they are legally obligated to honor a personal request to be removed from marketing lists even while you are their customer.

    Honestly, I don't mind them calling per se; I mind the robo-calls where answering the phone leads to dead air.  That is a terrible way to treat a long-time customer.

    Thats why you keep getting called.

    If you wanted to get ahold of me (YourMom) and I didnt answer, you'd probably try to call me back later that day or the next day.  If it was important, you probably wouldnt stop trying until you got ahold of me.

    If you really want the calls to stop you are way better off just answering the phone and saying "not interested", then the caller has to mark you as "called-declined" which removes you from the dialing list.

    Constantly ignoring the call is not going to make the calls stop.  You have to respond to the call if you want it to stop.

    I also have been getting these same dead air calls. I logged into my register.com account, and went to chat. After comfirming my account via code in an email he put me on the do not call list and said it'd take 24-48hrs. Fingers crossed.
