"HOLD FOR AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE". THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS WHEN YOU ANSWER THE CALL. THEY ARE CALLING MY CELLPHONE DURING MY PEAK TIME, I'M NOT HOLDING FOR ANYTHING. IF IT'S IMPORTANT THEY SHOULD HAVE A PERSON NOT A RECORDING ON THE OTHER END OF THE PHONE!!!

I received the same call from the same phone number. The recording states it is the "billing office." I did not respond.

"pleas hold for an important message" (recording) repeated 3 times. I held on and gave no response, finally some person said hello and I still gave no response and they hung up.

I tried calling from my cell, and got message that I could not call from service. I called from another number and was placed on hold, with message stateing that all representatives were busy. I was transfered to leave a message for 'billing', but someone picked up. I asked what company it was, and the guy hesitated for a second and said it was Baptist, but if I gave him my phone number he could tell me what company called??? oh please. Whoever it is seems wholly unwilling to give information but certainly wants some.  Be weary of giving info.  It is likely a 3rd party billing Co., or somthing akin to collections.

Just so you know, in a call center, they ALL use dialers, and whomever it is that answers the phone most likely isn't the person that called you. That's why they ask for your phone number. Even IF the center has CID, the number you're calling from might not be the one dialed. You may have call-forwarding to your cell, but it was your home phone that the company called.

Further, the reason they might be saying "which company called" - which I will grant you THAT was handled VERY poorly - is because they might be a billing agency - not 3rd party collections. Collections is just going to give you their company name, because at that point you've asked for it.  Billing agencies, on the other hand, are handling information for NUMEROUS companies, and while you might be calling in on the number that shows up for your Charter account, they might have called you on the number that's on your Baptist East account.

No offense intended, but the first person has the right of it in one thing: you don't want to take the call, hang up. The dialer then moves on to the next number. You hold and then scream at the poor operator about having to hold? That's on you. If the only number you ever give to be reached at is your cell phone, that's on you. You don't give a land line - or don't have one - and whomever you do business with uses a billing company (most larger companies - especially medical - do), then you're going to have to expect those calls if you don't respond to the letters you get or if you don't have your mail forwarded if you move. Accept a little responsibility, please.

This was the hospital calling to let me know that my insurance did not cover all of a medical bill from a dr office visit. Everything they gave me i could confirm because i had already gotten an eob from the insurance carrier and was working on a resolution. This was legit.
