left ths number in a message threatening me with fines and going to my place of employment and telling me to be at my home between certain times or else. I also believe the same person called looking for me at another number.

Got the same call moments ago threatening to call show up at my place of employment and have me sign for the documents in front of security. LOL. Also says in the voicemail that i have been officially notified. First of all voicemails are not considered any type of OFFCIAL notice or notification. Neither are text messages.

Even more so a debt collector or anyone for that matter can’t tell you when to be home to be served.  My suggestion is get them in the phone. Do NOT confirm your SSN or DOB. I wouldn’t even give them my mailing address. If you do decide to deal with them have them send you details in writing as you shouldn’t discuss them over the phone. Take down the name of the company and their mailing address as well. Chances are they aren’t even licensed to do business in your state OR they bought an old debt and trying to collect on it. Hence the reason for the ridiculous pressure tactics. I called the guy and he put me on hold for 15 minutes. Probably because I called them on their bs and he needed backup 😂 I enjoy these calls actually. Guys voicemail says his name is Carl Thomas 🤦🏾‍♂️ and time think I actually like Carl Thomas’ music.

Same as everyone above but didn’t have my name, had someone else’s. Should I call and tell them they have the wrong number?

Don't bother. They won't care. They'll just try to get you to pay them.
