Received an email from "Dan Hagan@intuit.com" saying that his organization has been advised that I assisted in tax fraud on behalf of an employee. The phone number is for the AICPA, but the email is a scam.

I received an email today stating pretty much the same thing.

I ALSO RECEIVED AN EMAIL STATING PRETTY MUCH THE SAME THING. IF YOU READ THE EMAIL CLOSELY YOU WILL SEE THAT IT HAS THE SAME SENTENCE STRUCTURE MISTAKES AS THOSE COMING FROM NIGERIAN SCAM EMAILS. DO THESE IDIOTS EVER GIVE UP. IM SURPRISED PEOPLE ARE DUMB ENOUGH TO REPLY TO THESE EMAILS. I WISH THERE WAS A WAY TO APPREHEND THESE CRIMINALS AND INCARCERATE THEM IN A PRISON CELL.

I, too, received a similar email, with a number of spelling mistakes.  For a professional organization, I knew it had to be a scam - they would not message this way.  Also they assumed I was a CPA, which I am not so how could I lose my certification with them.  Dumb dumb dumb people.  I suppose it would take a dummy to answer their email.

Left no message - not seen this number before - did not call back - if it's important, they will leave a message.

Seems like they're calling today... just got a call from them now and when I answered, it was quiet, no one spoke.  It's registered to the AICPA but I've been getting a lot of spoofed calls where the caller pretends to be calling from another number so given all the comments here I wouldn't be surprised if it's a scam

Correction: they called again and it turns out it's an automated message from the AICPA alerting that if I don't renew my membership today, I'll be assessed a late penalty fee.  Really?  Calling to collect membership fees via robocall on a Saturday????

Call wanting membership dues . Not a member , do not want to be , and overall call seemed like a scam . So from now on ,on call block for life.
