Got a call, no message.

I answered and said "Hello? ...... Hello?" and then they hung up without saying anything.

This was a recording from United Healthcare Insurance letting me know an authorization had been approved.

This was a recording from Health First insurance letting us know to call back other phone no 866-803-8908 for authorization of required service from doctor, I didn't call back.

This was a recording from Evicore Healthcare (never heard of it) on behalf of my insurance provider, letting me know they authorized a test required by "my doctor" (no name) and to call back at 866-803-8908 for information. I didn't call back and contacted my insurance

I thought it was a scam because even the phone says 'scam likely' so I didn't pick up. However, they left a voicemail and it looks like it's just an automated system used by my health insurance company to let me know that the prior authorization for my MRI was approved. I have United Health Care, but they probably work with multiple companies.

Yes. Evicore is a 3rd party authorization company that seems to be used by a lot of insurance companies these days. EmblemHealth uses it in New York.  The problem is that the core idea is inconsistent and often looks like a Spam call. Sometimes when they call me the first thing they ask is is this [your name] yes or no with a very bad synthesized voice and it's the type of call that every consumer protection article tells you to hang up on.

So provided it's not spoofed and you are expecting medical procedure to be authorized it's probably safe to answer if you recognize that number. It's a real problem

"Core idea" = caller ID.  I love autocorrect.... especially on delayed reactions.....

As others have stated it's Envicore letting you know about an authorization - you can let it go to voice mail if you don't want to answer, they'll follow up with a letter. (I have United Health Care)

Received 2 calls from this # within 15 minutes.
Both left a vm regarding my health insurance BCBS. The number came up as Scam Likely, I will not be calling back. I will call my insurance directly.

888-785-3471 called but left no message, nor did they call back.
I've read the previous posts and we do have some medical tests coming up. I wonder because no message was left and no call back.

I got this call, and I will be having a medical procedure.  After it said my name and asked me to press 1 or 2, I hung up thinking it was a scam.  If the medical provider contacts the insurance company for pre authorization, what use are these people?

Envicore letting you know about an authorization. I couldn't think of it at that moment, but I'm having an MRI so the call is legit. I just wish it wouldn't sound so much like a SPAM call.

I agree why cant the insurance company do there own work seems like a waste of money
