This is a place of business.  Caller asks for the manager (by first name).  When I ask who's calling the caller only identifies himself as Frank.  If I ask from where he is calling he replies Wachovia Dealer Services. If I ask if there is a message he replies that it is a personal business matter and gives a call-back number (888 803 2886 x 62630). Is this a sales call?  We do not deal with Wachovia at this business and neither does the manager.

Call left on home answering machine asking for me by full name.  Identified himself only as Patrick from Wachovia Dealer Services and said it was important that I call him back.  I had a Wachovia credit card over a decade ago and have not heard of them since.  Seems to be a Wachovia Dealer Services website which purports to be a subsidiary of Wachovia Bank, that says they are into car loans, but I haven't verified their relationship with Wachovia Bank directly. However the telephone number given by the caller is different from the one on the Wachovia Dealer Services website. I've had current credit card reps call to report a suspicious transaction, but not one ever said it was important.

Message left on one of my unlisted, DNC home phone numbers: "This call is for [unintelligible, but sounds kind of like my name].  Contact Frank at wachovia at 888-803-2886."  I called and hung up - message claimed to be Wachovia Dealer Services.

Message left made to sound urgent and slightly aggravated. Call was for 'my clearly stated name' but his name was 'unintelligible, garble'. Purposely mumbles his own name, which likely is not his real name anyway. That I should contact them a.s.a.p. only they were now "Wells Fargo Dealer Services" NOT Wachovia Dealer Services. Will not be returning phone call.

These people call my DNC cell phone for weeks now.  They ask for, again, "clearly stated name" (but it is not mine and it is not the name of anyone I know or am related to; I have had this, the same, cell phone number for over 12 years) ... Mumbles her name and races through "Wells Fargo Dealer Services", saying that they do need a call back today on an important matter.
I have never returned their call, nor do I plan to.

This is a bill collector.  They called me because I am listed as a friend on my neighbor's credit application.  The neighbor hasn't paid her car payment in 2 months because she's too lazy to go out and find a job. She also hangs up the phone when she sees an 800 number is calling.  So the creditor calls me asking that I get a message to her to call them back.  I told her that I normally wouldn't concern myself with her finances, but the bill collector made it my business.  I know the collector is doing his job.  We have made ourselves debt-free, so we don't get calls like this.  I am ready to hang a banner on my porch, facing this woman's house stating "GET A F*****G JOB AND PAY YOUR DAMN BILLS!"
