Debt collector "A Much Better Way" claiming I owe money to checks unlimited. I have talked to them, and they know nothing about it.

Answering mach. Stating for me to call them at 888-817-1750. Called MY work number for checks unlimited. I ordered 1 time thru them paid for my checks 4.95 + shipping and now I owe more? I dont think SO. I WILL NEVER order again!!

This number called my mother-in-law's house and said my husband needed to call them. I just called them and got the answering machine but found out that they have Never called My Husband's phone at all. I have no clue how they got his Mom's number. I think it is a scam and I know I have gotten checks from checks unlimited before and don't owe anything if it is for that reason they are calling.

I got a phone call from this number claiming it was an attempt to collect a debt.   I am current on all bills, so I know it is a scam

They have called at least three times before.

This caller has been regularly calling my cell phone multiple times a week for close to a year, even though I initially told them they have the wrong number and that it is a cell number. After their second call later that same day, I put them on the auto-reject list. My phone no longer rings, but I can see in my call log that they STILL call. I think they try to annoy innocent people into paying other's debts or bogus debts. Auto-reject is my friend. I was hoping to find additional info on this caller.

The callers are a predatory dept collector going by McCarthy Burgess & Wolff.  I have no debts, but the continue to call.  When I called them back to have me removed, they asked me to verify MY name, and would not say who they were trying to contact.  The cell number that they are calling me at is not listed, and I do not give it out to anyone other than family.  They have a terrible record with the BBB.

Definitely a SCAM!

It has to be a scam! They are calling my cell phone and I don't have any outstanding debts. They call and say nothing. Just so they know, I am on the Do Not Call List, so I am reporting this number to them!!!

As below, we have been called harassed by a few number recently, we are current on our debts so I know this is not correct info.  It is very annoying and frustrating to get these kind of calls and I am ready to delete our number.  the calls come from this number 888-817-1750.  Thank to others for looking this info up and placing on this website.  It is a scam.

I received an automated voicemail message from this McCarthy Burgess & Wolf.  They give this 888 number to call back but the number that they called from is a 267 number which is used for cell phone numbers.  This sounds a bit shady to me.  The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is making efforts to go after such agencies.  But they will only do it if enough people report these agencies to them. I urge everyone who has been harassed by this agency and any others like it to make a complaint with the CFPB.  You can do it on their website.

How in the world do they think you owe for something that you have to pay for before its sent to you...lol.

my mother has ordered checks from checks unlimited about 10 yrs ago.  sounds to me like they have hacked their database and are using it to scam people

I'm currently getting calls that sound like this company claiming a debt collector.  I don't owe anything, but I'm just curious who they want to reach because they call my work number.  I called them back twice and got answering machine.

..called twice within 3 minutes..wanted to speak with one of our employee..for "personal message"

called my parents house looking for me, pissed me off and I don't have any outstanding debts, I'm going to report them to BBB
