Company harrassing me, not my debt, husband's ex wife, not me!

Pre-recorded calls for debt collection come through even though the person they want is not at this number, has not been at this number for the two years I've had it, and the number is on the do-not-call registry.  They offer no way to opt out of repeat calls, nor can you speak to someone immediately.  You are supposed to call back at their convenience (m-f) even though they interrupt you on the weekend.

   Far too many complaints on this organization to leave them off this site. Owners Joel Castlevetere of Clarence, NY and partner Joseph Mosley are two old debt collectors who have mastered the art of collecting debts. They purchased old, (mostly worthless) accounts fore pennies, then churn out paper work to give them validity that allows them to go after consumers.
   
The complaints we receive are typical of the ‘Buffalo Style’ debt collectors where threats of legal actions are pending and the debt collector’s sound more like thugs than professionals do. This is typical of the history of Joel and his associates. He was once the owner of Great Lakes in Buffalo, NY, which was then, labeled one of the worst debt collectors in New York, before it was sold off.

Consumers who are contacted or have suits filed against them by Northstar should be aware that in the vast majority of cases, it is far less expensive and highly beneficial not to pay them, but to fight them. A nationwide group of consumer attorneys is available to assist you in taking on Northstar and their claims by attacking the validity of the bogus accounts they file. If you do the math on paying Northstar versus fighting them, you win by a long shot. They do not have the original documents in the majority of claims they file and most consumer lawyers are geared up to make them prove it or walk away with nothing.

   The reputation of this organization and the people working there is as bad as what was featured on all the collection agencies profiled on Dateline NBC. Same tactics lies harassment, threats, intimidation, and different players. Measure the cost of a lawsuit, a possible wage garnishment, property lien and bad credit for at least seven years against what it costs to hire an experienced consumer law professional and it is a no brainer.

these people got a hold of my unlisted number and the number of a vacation rental that I own.  they are trying to contact my ex of 23 years, who has never lived at my current home, nor have we ever shared the same phone number that these people are calling.  furthermore, i changed my name back to my maiden name after our divorce and have since remarried.  so how did they connect me to this loser?  i was able to call them and told them to remove my phone numbers.  i told them i had no idea who they were trying to contact.  they were very nice and did remove both phone numbers from their database and i haven't been contacted since.

They call everyday.  They're looking for somebody whom I've never heard of.  The lady I talked to promised to have my number removed and to not call me anymore.  We'll see what happens.

This debt collection agency calls my number far too much.  I am Not the person they're looking for.  
About a year ago, I picked up the phone & talked to a real person there, told her I'm not the person, never heard of the person, I've had my phone number for 20+ years.   The agent was very nice, and took me off their call list, for a while.    Then, time went by, and a new "collector" called.   It was a message on answer machine, so I wasn't home to pick it up.  
They start the call with "If you are not Michelle (L or R, not enunciated well enough for my ears) & my last name, then push Delete, or I'm presumed to be the party they're looking for" --
My phone does not have a Delete, so I cannot push a Delete that I don't have.    
I am NOT the person they're looking for.  
Now, all they're calls are NOT a real person, so picking it up wouldn't get me anything.  
They're WAY too pushy about robo calling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell them the next time they call they are violating the TCPA and FDCPA by intentionally harassing a non-debtor and will take legal action if the calls do not stop.

Heavy indian accent answers the phone and says Norton Support - I told him [***] he is a scam artist. Now they are sending emails saying they charged you $649.99 for a renewal today. Email comes from gebbs.com. This is the phone number attached to the email. They want you to call and cancel and give them all of your information. So done with this world. Don't you [***] know money is not the answer to life.
