I just got a phone call from my job saying a detective claimed if I didn't call them back about this loan that was taken out over 5 years ago I would have a warrant issued out an taken off the schedule at work if not paid . he was rude when I called and said his name was Alfred green and didn't really want to give me his first name the number was 1 888-831-7937.  Any clue to as if this is fraud

1.  Ordinary debt is not a criminal offense ... it is a civil offense.  Therefore "warrants for arrest" are not issued.
2.  In ANY case, debt collectors cannot issue warrants for arrest.  Only judges can do that.

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

i just got a call from a man identifying himself as Dective Alan Rogers serving me (over the phone) papers about a loan that i took out in 2010. he gave me a fake docket number and asked me to call the number back. the number he provided was 888-831-7937. i called the nber back and spoke yo a female claiming to be a Regina who advised i took out a loan in March of 2010 for $350. 1st of all, i dont do online loans. so automatically,  i know this is Fraud. please be aware. !!!!

Received a call from these people threatening to bring a summons to my job if I didn't call 888-831-7937.   Stated there is a pending court case against me in my county, with a file number that resembles a docket number but is not one.  Earlier today I received a call from a lady with a local state number 580-825-5323 that also wanted me to contact the 888 number she was going to transfer me to them and we were disconnected during the transfer.  I did not answer the returning call.

I got a call from this number, he said his name was Alan Rogers, wanted me to pay 730$ so I did coming to fine out it was a scam, I called him back and told him to email me everything , he said he had technical difficulties couldn't email anything, told him I need it send to me. Got disconnected and call the same number and a man answered and his name was James Cox. It sound like the same man I was talking to and I told him that and just hung up, I was scam so bad I wish they could just shove all that $ where the sun don't shine and hope one day it falls back on them and get caught....
