Sounds like somebody was trying to hijack your account.

Computer froze. I was in urgent need so I tried it. It crashed my computer and I filed a complaint.  I was refunded everything except my pride. 🙃

Well, you might have gotten refunded, but they still loaded malware, spyware and anything else, plus they got every piece of worthwhile information off that hard drive.

Number called and said they were from verizon porting department and need my previous carriers PIN to port one of 5 numbers. I hung up and called the verizon number on my paperwork and was told that all porting was completed and there was no information needed.

Just received a call from this number. The young lady identified herself as being with the Verizon porting department when I answered. I had signed up for service with Verizon last night on their web site and requested my numbers be ported over from AT&T. I had entered an incorrect PIN number on the web site, so she was calling for the correct PIN number. I gave her the PIN and she completed the port of all numbers while I was on the phone with her. This is a legit number, and it's listed on the official Verizon web site in their "Guide to Porting Your Number to Verizon".  If you receive a call from this number and it's not Verizon, then someone is spoofing the number and you should definitely hang up on them.

This # tried to sell me a monitor for falls etc. Subsequent calls pitched other services they wished to sell me. New cell phone user. I'm confused.

Verizon Wireless to assist with phone number transfer from AT&T. They might need to have an AT&T representative to join the conference.

Scam. Called me on July 29th telling me court motion filed against ex-husband, whose address is listed as same as mine. Just moved to current city 1 1/2 yrs ago, been divorced for 19 yrs. son has same name, is a junior, also never lived here with me. Caller specified Sr however. My daughter, who is also a legal adult, received same call today. Called them back, asked to hold, waited a minute or two then hung up.

Claimed to be a request to port my number ending in XXXX to verizon. May well be a legitimate Verizon number, but the port request was fake and did not give a valid XXXX for any of the numbers on my account. Someone is trying to pull something. Did not respond and blocked as spam.

Holding for the port to port department at Verizon.  The first call to Verizon was to port over a number.  While I was holding and the music was playing in the background a man's voice began to talk to me.  When I asked who is on my line?  the line went back to just music and then the call was disconnected.  Second call was told I had no accounts with Verizon.  Third call Brea said she could not hear me and rattled off 8888447095.  The call then disconnected a total of 6 times over a 4 minute period.  Not sure if I was actually talking to Verizon but there was definitely more than one call and one person on the line.

Rec'd message. It said it was verizon and I needed to call back and enter my pin to 'port my phone number' ..  I went to MyVerizon.... No message, :

Me to Verizon: I received a message from 888-844-7095 saying it was Verizon and was involving porting my number... I am not porting my number.

Verizon: I am not finding any active number transfer requests for your line.

Martha or Marsha claimed to need my account number from spectrum mobile to move over my number to verizon because yesterday my mother was working out the details of verizons current deal, however when saying I have spectrums number in front of me she demanded to call them herself. After 2 minutes of horrid hold music I hear both M and now Loyd, Larry or something else with an L say "I'm here.". Asked for both of their names again and asked what number M called L from and refused to give me that number saying it was an internal number, so being polite I told them I had already done a number search on a scam registry and the number they were using 18888447095 had been traced back 5 years, generously noted by Kelly in 2016 and also informed them that if they have any other questions to ask me that they have already "[***] around" and that they were about to "find out". Best advice is to not answer more questions than they do.

Seems like a scam. Received a call this morning from the number after successfully having my cell phone ported yesterday. Voicemail claims they are from Verizon and need a number to complete porting, which isn’t the case.

Rec'd vmsg from this # requesting call back to confirm port of cell number ending ____ to Verizon.  I didn't request port & am not a Verizon customer.  I called # back, automated system requested phone number to be ported, I didn't input any info & hung-up.  I contacted my carrier & Rep thinks it might be a scam.  Advised me to delete msg & not call back!
