I received a notice from this number saying I owe a parking bill.  I was not there on the day in question and rarely do I go to that part of the city.  I am being wrongly accused in this matter and yet thier letter head is from a lawyer's office.  Gregg Van de mark.

Did the notice have the VIN number of your vehicle? Were you ever able to contact him via phone or email? I might be in the same situation as you.

This turd sent me a collections letter saying i have an unpaid parking ticket.  no idea what he is up to, this is the first I have ever heard of this, and its a year late.  I have no unpaid tickets, so [***] GREG VAN DE MARK

I received one of these, my wife's calendar said we were out of town that weekend, so it's BS

I also got a notice saying i was at a bar in fort worth first of all i dont even go to bars and i never got a first notice if this was legit so to say i am sent to a collection and an attorney at that is BS. Scammers sux!!!!!!!! Dont send them your money

I tried to contact this Gregg Van De Mark but no luck the automated system take you to a dead end I'm a truck driver and I was not near the city were the so violation was issued

Illinois plate which was disposed of 3 years ago by cutting it into pieces.  Violation was from April 2017.  I requested the same number as a vanity plate and was told it was available. Which means it wasn't reissued. So, it seems that they just pull these numbers out of their a$$ and hope you pay it. And, I've never been in Colorado!

I looked up the street view which is a San Antonio address for a restaurant called Denny's. I stopped there for  dinner that day because I had some business downtown. So basically, I'm guessing, I got a ticket for being a Patron of Denny's?  Judging by the other comments here, I'm probably not going to get this resolved with just a phone call. But going to try to talk to manager at Denny's.

Appears to be this person.  Seems to specialize in debt collection.   Extensive complaints about his business practices on BBB.  Often makes claims about  debts but will not provide any backup information.

Just because someone  says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If someone  claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

If they are bothering you, report them:

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

Claims that my vehicle was parked at an address  in Ft.Worth without a parking sticker. Wants to collect $50.
I was nowhere near this town and the license plate number he refers to is in mine either. What a jerk. Is he just trying to collect hard-working people’s money?

My husband and I received a letter from this company stating that we have a no payment to park 80 at a 500 North Field St. which we have no clue where that is we tried to look up the street and it’s somewhere in Dallas which we do not go on 10/09 of 2020. We will not be paying this ticket and will not be sending any money to this person and why are they sending stuff way from Colorado. Saying it is from Laz DFW Beyer & Associates
