- DWThis number keeps calling and all it is is silence and then it hangs up, no idea who it is or how they got my number.
- DaniThe problem with A Place for Mom is that you can't see prices unless you sign up for free. They block out the price column in the list. They require a name and phone number. I just wanted to see price ranges for an area so I signed up (you don't get an account or anything) using my google voice number. After that, I still couldn't see price information without them calling me. It was still blocked out in the list. The phone rang immediately and I didn't answer, so they've been calling regularly since. Am blocking them. I think it's sad they're being deceitful. They are not a non-profit, so they're subject to the DNC list, but they're stretching it to say we've had a previous relationship. All I wanted was to see price ranges on a web site that said I could do so for free. I will now be recommending to people that they don't sign up, just call them instead.

- MichelleI got several calls from this number, the person just breathed weirdly into the phone for 12 minutes on my voice mail. Creepiest thing ever. I would not use them, because of this.
- Caller: Not sure, never left a message.
- Pat replies to MattYes, that is correct, but for the U.S., not Canada, so I retracted my request for more info, and now they won't stop calling me...4 times today!!!
- Miss EllieI'm researching options/costs for independent and assisted living facilities in an effort to plan for the future, should my husband and I ever need some kind of help with our daily routines. I provided my telephone number on A Place For Mom, which was required in order to look at a specific facility, so I expected someone to call. I explained to the nice lady that my husband and I are not yet in the market for moving to one of their facilities, but that I'm trying to plan for the future. She offered to send an e-book that talks about financial planning for the future, so I accepted her offer. Not a scam, but I'm a bit surprised at some of their aggressive tactics to contact people who gave fake numbers (as reported by some posters on this site).

- Melanie replies to MattYep, you are correct Matt, within seconds of requesting more info my phone started ringing.
- Bob FHad I known they would be calling before I even read their add, it was about 30 seconds, I'd never have put in my phone number. But they don't have the integrity to warn you, so they're blocked now. WAY too pushy!

- Sassy| 1 replyOakland county senior living. Constantly calling! Ain't ready for that! Tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine!
- Caller: Oakland County Senior Living
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JustinCase replies to SassyLet the phone ring if you're able to, instead. They're unlikely to heed your request and as long as they get any kind of answer, the calls will probably continue. It doesn't matter what you tell them, as long as there's an answer, they win. You basically need to get them tired of calling your number by having no answer at all.
- PamKeep getting calls from 888-857-0796. Made the mistake of entering my phone number when searching for nursing homes for my mother and now they won't quit calling. Blocked the number so they only go to voice mail but they don't leave any messages. It's hard enough helping aging parents without harassing phone calls 5-8 times a day!
