- JEROME| 1 replyApparently they called my Mother's house looking for me. I figured it was a scam of some sort because I know for a fact that I don't owe anyone money. I was gonna call them back just to mess with them, but they put me on hold for such a long time, I ended up eventually just hanging up the phone.

- New Jersey| 2 repliesI received a call today from 888-863-9125 that someone filed a civil lawsuit against me. They gave me case #KL4920 and told me I had 1 hour to call or I would be served in person. When I called the number (4-5 times) they just put me on hold and never picked me up. I'm pretty pissed off and want to know just what happened to me?

- Corey| 4 repliesReceived a call from 888) 863-9125 stating that I owed for an old T-Mobile bill from 2004. I remember owing the bill but the guy was aggressive stating I would owe 2700 in attorney fees and they could settle right now for 391.00 but the old bill was 950. He needed a card or he was filing in 15 minutes. They had my moms, wife, and cousins phone number. Stated they mailed letters 45 days ago to my last 3 addresses. Advised I never received them. NOT SURE IF THIS IS LEGIT OR NOT. I kept asking for an email of some kind but he would not comply. Say I will receive a letter from the courts in 7 to ten business days. I live in Oklahoma and he stated he was in California. What state is he filing in? If its legit I'll pay if not I'll call T-Mobile myself.

- Joe perezThey are the biggest [***].
First the guy calls saying he's a presses server and that if I don't call right away the sheriff will arrest me.
Then when I call they tell me that I have a legal mater in regards to a bad debt. I'm surprised because I have been really good for years and have had no problem,.
Yet when they bring up the issue at hand was a from a car loan i had that the car was repo 15 years ago. yes 15 years ago.
The car loan was from 1998 and the default happened in 2000
This is past the statue of limitations yet they were threatening me with damaging me credit report and law suites even after they confirmed that yeas this was 15 years old.
Please dont buy into these guys new scam.

- NANCE HENDERSON replies to New JerseyI got the same identical message. I believe these are scammers.
- NANCE HENDERSON replies to CoreyIgnore it statute of limitations has run out anyway. Block them from calling you.... Do not pay.
- BigA replies to CoreyHe is required to file in the state that you live in and in the nearest courthouse that would have jurisdiction. the statute of limitations in OK is 5 years written, 3 years oral contract. They are required to prove to you that the debt is valid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

- SteveMy wife got a call about an account that was opened in Oct 2005 and has been delinquent since 2010. They asked for my wife by her maiden name. They gave her a case # and this phone # we are all complaining about. Apparently we owe a phone company $600. We did have an account with this phone company but we paid our bills and cancelled it to go with another company. So we don't owe them anything. Secondly, it is a red flag for this to come up 5 years later. They say they have been trying to contact us by phone and mail. We are out there so this all seems weird.
We called them back and said we want documentation. We'll see what they say now.
