Recieved a call from WCG and associates. Staes they have been trying to serve me with paperwork and have been unable to reach me. They informed me on a message that I had 24hrs to contact them or they would serve me at work. WHATEVER!!! They would not agree to fax or mail me proof of what debt they claim they were trying to collect. I refused to confirm any of their information they claimed they had in front of them. Notified them that I would be reporting them to my State Attorney General Office and the Federal Trade Commison.  Much to my suprise, they hung up on me.

I received a similar VM today stating that if I did not call within 2 hours that someone would come to my house to serve me legal documents.  I called my County Clerk of Court and confirmed that there was no legal action pending against me.  I called to number given, only to figure out the extent of my complaint I would be filing with the FTC.  The person I spoke with refused to give me anything in writing regarding this "debt" and gave me a bogus number to get the information from.  I did tell the man that I checked with the Clerk of Court and that there was no legal action pending.  The guy said "maybe in process" so I said "So you are not serving legal documents as the message stated?".  I was placed on hold.

I would suggest anyone receiving this kind of call file a complaint with the FTC.  Debt Collectors have to follow Federal Law.  It is illegal for debt collectors to fail "to identify self as a debt collector with a given company, use false pretenses to collect a debt, such as false company names or implying communication is from anyone but a debt collector".  Debt collectors must also "provide the exact amount of any money owed, the name of the original creditor, and a means of proving the validity of the debt within thirty (30) days of contact".

The link to file a complaint with the FTC is https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

Regardless of whether the debt is something you owe or is bogus, these practices are not legal.  Don't let these people get away with this behavior!  They must be held accountable!

I received a call from this company stating they needed to verify my address and time I would be available so that they could deliver a sopena to me.  I called them back immediately.  The answering service could not tell me what the name of the company was or what I was being sued for.  They asked me for the case number.  When I gave it to them, they informed me that the lawyer handing my case was in court, but should be back shortly.  I left her a message, and she returned my call within a few minutes.  She informed me that I owed $2000 on a credit card.  The original balance on the credit card was only $300.  I told her I didn't want to go to court and perhaps my ex had forgotten to pay for it during the divorce.  She said she would talk to the company, The Bank of Delaware, and see if she could get them to go down on the amount.  She put me on hold for about 20 seconds, came back on and said she had gotten them to go down on the bill.  I now only owed $400.  I really wanted to clear this up and not get sued...  so, even though it sounded a little shaky to me, I agreed to pay the balance on that Friday.  I asked her to call me back.  She said she needed to secure the credit card in order not to go into court proceedings.  I gave her my debit/credit card.  I asked what the name of her company was, and she didn't want to give it to me.  She finally did with a little persuasion and I got her to admit she was just a collection agency.  After I hung up with her, I put the name in google.  This website and several others popped up stating that WC Group was a scam and not to pay them.  I felt like an idiot.  The only thing that sounded legit was the voicemail.  I called my bank and they canceled my credit/debit card immediately.  I was able to pick a new one up the next day, and I didn't need to do anything further to my bank account to secure it.  They tried to call me back one more time, but I simply told her that "I wasn't going to put up with this right now."  I haven't heard from them since.

    Tired of these scammers
Well I guess there at it again. I just received a message on my cell phone from a so call Ms. Dovie or Scovie couldn't really understand her.  She talked about serving me a home and will try 3 times.  If not they will recorded it in the courts.  Whatever!  Thank goodness for Goggle.com  I put in the number and low and behold look at what I found.  They are scammers.  Don't call them back, don't give them any info.  If you do owe a bill most likely you will be served from a law enforcement officer and they don't ask for money.

    clean credit finally
I researched all the companies trying to collect on all my unpaid debt as I was working on cleaning out my debt including the wc group co. I had a continental finance accout they were handling in their office. I did not want to pay them after reading on here but the company I was using to clean my credit called the original card co. And eventually verified that they were handling this account and told me that the only way to get this updated on my credit was to pay through them (wc group co) and obtain a letter of proof of payment after to update my credit. I know most people on here don't want hear this because let's face it, who wants to pay anything? But in all fairness we can't expect to get something for nothing. My financial advisor said that If we use a credit card we have a  legal obligation to pay it back even if the account is closed due to non payment. Anyways, I'm done and my credit is gooooooooood again yay!

Just dealt with these [***] today. They sound very legit at first and had me a little flustered, only until I asked them for some verification of who they were so that I could be assured of where my payments would be going. They COULD NOT verify or fax me or ANYTHING until I "came to an agreement" with them. [***]!!!!!!!!       THEY ARE FULLLLLLLLL OF IT AND OVERFLOWING WITH MALARKEY!!!

If you pay your bills and nolt try to scam the credit card company out of the money you signed the contract for, just maybe they would not try so hard to collect the money you agreed to pay.  Get you heads on people and stop trying to get credit you know you cannot afford. I know times are hard and people have lost jobs, just think that all that mess does go on your fica score and it follows you forever stupid

Today I received a call from a representative from Process Servers Verfification but didn’t answer the phone. He left a message claiming that he is a process server and wanted to find out where he can serve or hand papers to someone to give to me. He claims this is a second attempt. His telephone number is 1-888-865-4968. This phone number is tied with the WC Group.  I don’t know what this debt is for or to who it is associated with. One collection agent had gotten me confused with a Nicole Carter Bush who has debt that I don’t have. The guy left a case number 8860457NIC which is not at the district courts.  My questions are is that is it legal practice to do this?   Is this intimidation or form of harassment? What should I do?

I just received a phone call from WC Group stating that I owe a baLance of 2022.00. They stated that I had to pay ths balance or they will serve me papers. I stated before I do anything I need a letter from them on there letter head. She told me not a problem but I would have to give her my credit card to keep this out of court. I told her to email me with the info and I will call back.
I received the email and it looks fake!!!! I have been a bill collector for over 30 years and this doesn't seem right. I'm going to contact my attorney tomorrow and also our local court house to see if legal action is pending on me. If not I will file suit against this company.
I would adivse anyone if they receive a call from any collector before giving them any credit card info
checking account info to make sure they are legal. With the way the world is right now there are to many scams going and colloctors...LOL know how to push the right buttons to get you to give them what they wany. JUST BEWARE!!!!
