Vehicle protection

 This number was on a postcard that I received in the mail, urging me to have my 'vehicle protection' activated.  I did purchase this vehicle earlier this year, so I assume they got my name and address off public vehicle records.

Receive a yellow post card urging me to active my vehicle protection. Purchased a car about 3 months ago.

Got an urgent yellow postcard indicating that my new vehicle needed this protection "to ensure its continued safe operation". There was no address provided. I think this is about purchasing an extended warranty, and not about the warranty coverage that automatically comes with my new car.

Received yellow postcard in mail to call 1-888-877-0703 in order to activate vehicle protection. Vehicle protection plan bought when purchased vehicle. When expressed protection plan good to 100K miles, rep asked how much did I pay. No thank you.

Received a yellow postcard urging me to activate my vehicle protection. I purchased a used vehicle a year ago. Called the number once and received a full voicemail box. Called the number a second time and was immediately sent to hold music and waited almost 20 minutes before someone answered. The gentleman suggested they could provide new vehicle protection for me and I told him I purchased protection at the dealer. He asked how much I paid for it and I didn't know offhand. I explained that I purchased the extended warranty and he said he would note the account. He then said..."uh oh" and hung up on me. Suspicious. I'd send this card straight to your recycle bin. This is just a scam using recent vehicle records to sell you protection that you might already have.

This company sent me a, "Motor Vehicle Service Notification" notice. I called this number 1-888-877-0703 (Lariat Automotive Group) the company's alias name. I got a person named Brett Conrad. He told me he was my auto warranty company and my warranty was ending. That was a flat out lie! This company is selling 3rd party warranty that are garbage according to the BBB.  He tried to sell me a warranty for $3,475.00 for 5 years. This company had nothing to do with my warranty company at all. Its close to Christmas and scammers always find a way to mislead people. I taped the conversation where he said he was with my warranty company, he lied. This mailer is deceptive and fraudulent. I will be taking further action. These 3rd party sellers warranty never get honored. The bottom line is this company was sold our information without my knowledge or consent.

Same experience as others scare tactic marketing, misleading. Your warranty is not running out.

Fake Fake and Fake.  Do not get scamed

I, too, received a yellow postcard with the 888-877-0703 number.  I blocked my number and called.  It's the "Lariat Group," and they are in the business of ripping off consumers by trying to convince them that your vehicle's warranty is about to expire, offering to sell you a worthless warranty.  I told them I was going to report them to the State Attorney General's office.   I'm sure they don't care, but if enough people do it, I think it could make some waves.

I too received a yellow post card urging me to call to activate my service warranty with Lariat Automotive Group phone number was 888-877-0703. I was charged $168.22, to be charged to my Discover credit card monthly. The charge was to Paylink.veh cov 800- 839-7940, They were unaware of this Lariat Automotive Group. When I purchased my vehicle in August 2018, I also purchased a service warranty at that time. Lariat automotive group said they were a 3rd party affiliated with Lexus to activate the maintenance service warranty for this vehicle. The man or representative I spoke with to cancel this warranty, was very rude, disrespectful and unprofessional.  I wish to cancel this questionable service. The reviews were 1 star, and the reviews contained my same experience with this company. I could not send a message or email because it disappeared. The man on the phone was yelling at me, talking over me, and hung up the phone on me, shouting they area #1 rated company.  When I called today 2/1/19, I believe it was the same person with the yelling, talking over me and trying to convince me that this was a good company. All I want to do is to cancel this I believe, a fraud company. Please acknowledge.

Got a postcard about calling this number urging me to purchase this plan, now all I want to do is cancel it. The representative said that I had to wait 30 days before he would do that. Should I report this to an Attorney General?

Same as all the other messages...received Yello card in mail to call 888-877-0703.......what a scam. Sorry to hear that some folks fell into their trap. I don't understand why these scammers get away with it.

Yes, I would report it to the Attorney General. You need to cancel this right away and do it in writing. Also, if you gave them your VISA card or Debit card information, call your financial institution to try and have it stopped. Tell them you have been scammed.

This is an extended warranty scam, as others have mentioned.

This is an extended warranty SCAM.  I reported it to the FTC via the "do not call" website complaint form.  You should report them too!
