Get calls at my work a few times per day.  I answer, silence and then disconnects.

This is a primary example of the willy nilly FCC bending to any telemarketing business no matter how illicit it is.  

Worst these days now are the companies calling you in the names of charities, energy saving, free boat cruises, alarm systems, education, insurance.  

They are in it for profit, theft, fraud with the now blessing of the FCC.  

What is wrong with this picture?

This is a company that handles surveys for various technology magazine companies.  It's not malicious, but is extremely annoying.  They don't ask for any personal information.  I still requested (multiple times) to have my work number removed from their database.

(888) 886-5491 This number continually calls 3-5 times a day wanting to do a survey. Make it stop!!!!

This one has now started on my work phone (3 times in the last hour).  I don't answer them.   I'm in Kansas.  This is not the only call I get.  I also get a local area code call with the same results - noone there then a disconnect.  I reported this to our Telephony people and found that some of these calls are coming from Walmart throw-away phones.  And there's no traceablility (I'm told) of the phone# to the person who bought it.  What crap! The best the Telephony group can tell me to do is change my phone#.  Which is almost impossible since I've been with the company 10 years.  What a hassle!  Is there any way to make these stop?!?!?  I'm to the point where I only answer the phone if I recognize the phone#.

Same thing with me, 10 call from 888-886-5491 no answer and you can't call it back.
