recorded message about my microsoft computer program sendingout viruses

Said my computer had a virus and I had 24 hour to call or my computer would be taken over

Is this legit

What a bunch of scammers. Accents are all from Pakistan or India with names like David Anderson, Sam & Aaron.

These [***] call back all day long...Cant they be found and put away??

Just received a call from this #, automated saying it was Microsoft and my computer was sending out unlawful messages and to call this 800#. Figured it was another scam.

Message left on our main office line voicemail over the weekend claiming to be from Microsoft. A synthesized voice recording states "My computer" is sending viruses to other MS users and this is against the policy. Also some nonsense about "the firewall" not working and to fix by calling them at the 888 number listed here. Clearly a poor attempt at a tired old scam directed at innocent consumers. Microsoft doesn't have your number and they aren't going to call you. That would be like getting a call from Ford Motor Company telling you your car exhaust has smoke coming out of it and to come in for a fix immediately! They don't know and they don't care!
