Received a voice mail from "Nationwide Courier Services" at 2:45 stating I would be receiving a package at 3:00 and to call and confirm. Called back and was directed to their "legal department" which was a guy named Dan. All of them seemed to be native English speakers. I was told that the package was paperwork I would have to sign regarding a litigation against me for a debt over 8 years old. If I signed the paperwork I would be responsible for the entire $4000+ debt plus legal fees which would be taken from my paychecks. They claimed this was happening quickly because they had made multiple attempts to contact me. They had my SSN, address, etc and read that information to me without me asking. They offered me a "settlement" of $2000 which would stop the courier (it was already after 3:00 at this point) but it had to be paid immediately to have my payment on record. I gave debit card information and signed a contract they emailed me from a "Tyler Gibson" from Docusign saying I was paying "Franklin Capital Management" for "The Delta Group." I didn't have time to read the paperwork and they told me not to save the document (I did anyway). Thankfully the bank declined the payment. This all happened within about 30 minutes and I was too rushed to think logically. They called back and asked me to call the bank to clear the payment. I told them I had to get to work and would try to step out to make the call when I got there. I was getting ready for work and I kept telling them I had to go and they kept trying to keep me on the phone, even asked me to sign paperwork on the way to work. Was able to think on the way to work and realized I was being scammed and I called the bank to cancel my debit card. Received one more voicemail saying they were going to try my card one more time and if it didn't clear, then the litigation would go through. I didn't receive any calls after that, probably because I would have known the courier never arrived.

I had the same thing happen to me that Lori described.  I came here first to check the number and did some Google searches as well.  They had my name, but no other verifiable information.  The guy said they're located "here in the county in my local area" and they'll be coming by at 3 PM to deliver the documents.  He said it was a "civil complaint" (used voice inflection here like he was unsure of what this was) and he mentioned a tracking number.  He said I would need a Government issued ID to sign for the paperwork.  Just Google "civil complaint" and "Nationwide Delivery Services" and you'll see a plethora of information there.  The call originated from a restricted number.  "Jack Robinson" uses various types of voice inflection when reading the script to make it more believable, but it's definitely a scam.

Same [***] scammer called me. Jack Robinson . had my ss# and date of birth. I told him that I wasnt that person so he left info and a tracking # for the package. Nationwide delivery services.

I burned them back when I returned the call. Told them to serve me at my place of employment. Topanga Police Headquarters and ask for Detective Oliver.. they didn't even want to the address.. made an excuse that they had to let attnys know that I want to be served at my employment. What do you want to bet I don't get any calls again???

My wife received the same call as the others above. It sounded legitimate but I was suspicious and always Google unknown numbers and really appreciate others reporting these things.

Just received the same call as above. I think they are becoming bolder because the Government shutdown made it impossible to contact the correct depts., to complain and report.

Got a call about a package delivery to my home address also verified my DOB and last 4 of SSN which seem to be available through google.  Said his name was Jack Robinson and it was regarding a civil complaint (in his experience wasn't a big deal), they would be making today will follow up if they do.  Left me a tracking # and this phone number 8889008386 to call. Had "no caller ID" show up from his end.

They called my son at work and verified his name address and last 4 of his social. They said they would need to see his id to deliver the package. I tried to call back and they wouldn’t give me any info regarding their services. They just called themselves the delta group and then said good luck and hung up on me.

Got a call saying they could not reach my dad and needed to confirm a time for a package to be delivered for a civil complaint. I asked him to tell me the address for my dad and they could not. They said I am also listed on the complaint and he gave me a tracking #. I told him he is a scam and he hung up on me.

I had the same call, but I was suspicious as there was no ID on the phone number.  This person gave me his name as Jack Robinson with Nationwide Delivery Services and had a delivery of a civil suit from Collin County.  He had my full name, my date of birth and the last four digits of my old social security number.  I asked him for his phone number, but he wouldn't give it to me; he said he was not allowed because it was his cell number.  He gave me a phone number from the sender,  I checked it online and I saw this was a scam.  I then told him that he was a scam and hung up.

This exact same thing happened to me. The Jack Robinson guy left a callback number of 888-202-5669. When I called the number, it went to a voicemail with very generic information. Unbeknownst to me that this was a scam, I left my name and call back number.

I got a similar call with a robotic voice telling me to call 888-900-3490 to speak with a social security officer otherwise they would say a fraud was done by me and a lawsuit would be filed. beginning of message was cut off so more difficult to tell what they were trying to say til played it for the 3rd time.

Yep, definitely a scam! REAL process servers don't call in advance. Block and ignore such calls if you can.
